I have been a lurker and occasional poster for a month or so now, but dont remember ever posting to say hi and introduce myself and my family.
My family and I live near central Virginia about 2 hours from Richmond and 1 hour from Roanoke, but I am originally from Kentucky. My DH and I have two wonderful children, DD is 8 and DS just turned 1.
I have always loved Disney. One of my first jobs was working at the Disney Store in the mall when I was going to college. Not trying to show age here, but that was back when the costume for female workers, were long 50s style skirts and letterman sweaters, bobby socks and white tennis shoes.
Growing up my family never really took family vacations together. I got to go to Disney my first time in 1989 when my high school marching band marched in a parade at Epcot. Of course back then there were only the two parks, Magic Kingdom & Epcot. I wanted to be sure that my children had the chance to experience that Disney Magic that I felt when I entered the Magic Kingdom for the first time.
In 2006 we took my DD for her first visit to WDW. She was hooked. This was also DH first visit to Disney also. He must have enjoyed it. We had planned on coming to visit again in 2007, but the stork had different plans, as we were blessed with our son in June of 07. We decided to wait until he turned two before we made the trip again, so we have our reservations made for December of 2009.
