Hello,

I was wondering what you guys think about Greenberg. Can you rent an golf cart from them? How much does the cart cost? Overall would you recommend Greenberg? Thanks!

To answer this and the other similar question you posted, no trailer rental vendors can offer a bundled golf cart with a rental. Disney put a stop to this when they also forced the vendors to formalize their relationships and pay for the privilege of delivering rental trailers to the Fort.

Prior to this formalization last year, Greenberg (and maybe others) could and did offer the bundle but now it's not an option. You can use the Search tool on the top of the web page and point it toward the Camping Board and you can find the discussion from last year there. While you wait for replies, the Search can also provide a wealth of recent opinions on a number of trailer vendors (most of whom sounds like do a good job).

You have the option of renting a cart from Disney, renting from an off-site vendor with the off-site pickup/return, or do without. We do without and pocket the money for other things.

Thanks for informing me on the situation!

Wow out the countless threads and the pages that were generated by them, that is probably the best summary from all that. The last time at the Fort, I was not impressed by the trailer rental place that had their trailers completely wrapped with their company's logo and contact info. I think it was in the 900 or 1000 loop. It was gaudy looking and out of place. I have no problem with rental units at the Fort. (My parents have used a rental company both times in thier trips there.) Just try to make them look lower key and fit in with the environment. You don't need them to look like a stock car. Limit your companies info to an 18" by 24" area on the trailer.

As for rentals, my parents used Greenberg the last time they were there with us. I thought they were alright. Any issues they tried to make right. Their customer service was pretty responsive and I wound up with Matt's card in my wallet which i finally took out the other day.

Good luck with the golf cart rental. My wife and I are trying to figure out whether or not we should rent a cart. The Disney tax is getting more pricey this time around.

And if ANYONE has any contact information on ANY outside rental companies other than T-TIME- PLEASE message me! I have been trying for months to find one, and still can not. We live in MN, so the only resources I have are google, or the DIS boards. And so far, neither has been able to send me anything on any other outside vendors. We don't mind having to go pick up the cart ourselves- mainly we would like to be able to reserve a 6 seater (we have 4 young children) and Disney won't allow that. And I know we are going to have some late night returns to the Fort with tired kids, and the golf cart makes things SO much easier.

Disney does have some six seat golf carts! just not a lot of them.

I know they have some, but they don't allow people to reserve them. It's a first come first serve thing....

serenitygr, there simply aren't many non-Disney alternatives. Beyond TT, I've only seen spotty references to other companies, some of which were individuals who were just cashing in on their personal carts and they let their customer service drop. I don't recall if you are driving into Orlando again but if so could you drive to the parks on the days you expect to have a late return? That would put you and the tired family right up to the door/campsite and not at a bus stop. Is that an option?

Good evening! We went to Disney this past summer, and instead of hauling our 5th wheel from Wisconsin, rented an rv from Greenberg. We did rent a golf cart from the Fort, and had previously asked if we could be put on the list for the six seater. Our DD, SNL, and two GS went with us. When we arrived, we asked, and they had one for us, noting that they had seen it as a request. I know it is pricey, so good luck to you. Sorry we will not see you in October, however, anxious for a late December trip, with our RV this time!! Have an awesome time.

Thanks Bama Ed! I never thought of that! This time we are flying in and renting a camper from Florida Camper Rental, but we ARE also going to rent a car. So that could be an option for those times.... ( I sincerely hope that one of these years we will get the chance to meet you, because since I've found the DIS boards 3 years ago, I have developed the utmost respect for you and your help and kindness to so many people on here)

Hi Bjschil!!! Can you believe we are going back?? I am so excited! Love seeing your name on here- makes our special Christmas trip seem like it was just yesterday :) You've given me an idea here- I may try this. No guarantees but must maybe it would help! I know they are pricey, but we save and save , and are willing to spend the money on one. Do you have the number you called? Wondering if it was the regular number where we made our request for the Big Bear Loop again, or if it's the number to the golf cart rentals at the Fort? Just as a heads up- we are already planning to go next year (2016) in the fall- maybe we'll see each other then?

I hope your winter is almost over in northern MN. We are enjoying a nice sunny 50, and we know that is almost summer! We just called the Bike Barn number and reserved our cart, and then asked for a six seater. They, of course, said they cannot reserve one specifically, but will put us on the list. We called a few days before arrival, and they confirmed we were on the list for a six seater, and when we arrived, we had it. We did not check in at the Fort until later in afternoon, and we were very happy it was available. Love facing forward,me specially when you go looping! We missed seeing you this summer, but woozers, was it humid for this Midwestern farm girl! Relentless was the term i used! Looking forward to Dec. 28, but am aware it will be a crazy busy time of the year at the Fort. Hot & humid or busy! Let's see, busy for us. Have a wonderful trip. Have you rented your RV yet? I think I read you were not driving down this year after your challenges driving home.

Serenitygr...

I certainly want your return trip to bed less stressful, but it was a lot of fun following your adventure last time. Of course, that was a special trip all around :) Here's hoping for a great time on your return! Best of luck with your prep and planning!

THIS!!! THIS RIGHT HERE IS WHY I WILL NEVER STAY ANYWHERE BUT THE FORT. :lovestruc WE'VE BEEN TO :lovestrucDISNEYWORLD EXACTLY TWICE IN OUR LIVES- STAYED AT THE CABINS IN 2012 AND DROVE OUR "ROLLIN TURD" DOWN CHRISTMAS OF 2013 AND STAYED FOR 2 WEEKS IN THE BIG BEAR LOOP. YET I FEEL LIKE EVERYTIME I COME ON THIS SITE, I AM "HOME". I SEE FAMILIAR NAMES, AND I HONESTLY FEEL LIKE PEOPLE ON THIS BOARD ARE MY EXTENDED FAMILY, EVEN THOUGH I'VE ONLY BEEN LUCKY ENOUGH TO MEET A COUPLE OF YOU.
THIS GROUP OF PEOPLE IS A HUGE PART OF WHAT MAKES FORT WILDERNESS SO SPECIAL- DON'T ANY OF YOU EVER THINK OTHERWISE!! FOR THOSE OF US WHO REALLY ARE "BEGINNERS" IN OUR LOVE FOR THE FORT- ALL OF YOU WHO TAKE THE TIME TO NOT ONLY TALK TO US, BUT THEN TO REMEMBER US OVER A YEAR LATER - THAT IS JUST PRETTY DARN SPECIAL....

SO I GUESS THAT'S MY WARM AND FUZZIES FOR TONIGHT! AND SORRY DAVISH562- I KIND OF HIJACKED YOUR THREAD... :o

Actually, I was thinking that this is a good example of something POSITIVE that could come out the revised trailer vendor-Disney relationships.

The picture snowmedic posted is literally a stationary billboard plopped right down in the middle of the Fort. Since Disney muscled these guys into the new contracts with the drop fees paid to Disney, etc., there should be an addendum added to the contract that no advertising greater than, say, 3'x3' on any one side of a trailer. For a billboard the size of the one pictured, if I were Disney I would ask for an arm-and-a-leg for the boatload of free advertising the vendor got (and we know Disney don't like to give stuff away for free). If you want to do the billboard thing, it will cost you your left kidney (or other important organ) every time you deliver said billboard.

If the vendor doesn't sign the addendum, his ability to deliver to the Fort will expire pursuant to the terms of the contract. I assume these types of agreements run for a set term and are subject to review/renewal/updates. If not renewed and agreed to by both parties, then they would simply expire.

So the vendor has the option to sign the paper or not. Of course, if not, he loses the Fort as a delivery destination. In any event, it would cut down on this tacky kind of shtick.

I'd be curious to know, though, if there wasn't some type of boilerplate language buried deep in the verbage of the existing agreement that restricts blatant advertising. If Disney was smart (and sometimes they make me think they aren't) this would be standard language in any agreement with an offsite vendor or service provider. Disney is flawed in a lot of ways but advertising is something they understand.

Bama Ed, I felt vinyl lettering in a 18 by 24 box is perfect. I know people rent RVs for this however, I am not interested and I am sure others are as well in seeing this. Also the other thing is the wrap job on that trailer is not well done. So it gaudy and improperly done is two strikes in my book. My other thoughts will be kept to myself and not to give Disney any ideas. Nothing like giving the mouse some cheese to feast on.
