greenban POLL: How Many DVC points do you have?

Hey there! With all the recent activity (some deleted) concerning the size of DVC ownership, I came up with yet another greenban poll. I'm wondering how many points you or your immediate family own at DVC. Please just include your & your spouse's points in the poll totals. Feel free to comment in the thread. As I don't wish to be banned, please read the following:


Please, let us try to keep this thread civil. It is NOT intended to imply Pooh Sized Contracts need to loose some points, or that Minnie Mouse Sized Contracts need to 'bulk' up. It is intended to allow the DVC Community to voluntarily share some of our information, and some of our 'life-stories" with each other!

Big or small, each of us are lucky to either Own a Piece of The Magic, Have a love a thing of all things Disney, or even (gasp) both!

Please! If you can't play nice, go elsewhere. If other peoples circumstances will sadden you, or cause you undue pain, go elsewhere!

So far we are getting by with our 250 points, but once PJ gets here and moves up in age, we are obviously going to have to have more to stay in 2 bedrooms all the time ( I soooo am looking forward to this - because I am "frugal" with points and if I HAVE to get a 2 bedroom it will make all those points much easier to spend....its a shame when you have to trick yourself huh? )


So - for our current family of 4, 250 was GREAT! Keeps me from making ALL our vacation plans at Disney (and thus keeps me married ) but allows us some wonderful trips!

I firmly believe that ANY amount of points is better than no points at all. We are brand new owners, still waiting for final closing, but all paid up As a family of 5, only time will tell how our 210 points will play out.

I agree! We're all lucky to have our DVC. I'm at 425 points. I started with only 100pts and did 4 add-ons. I wish I had bought more upfront, but my goal is to get to 500pts then maybe I'll stop.

I'm so happy you posted this poll because we just increased our points. DH wanted to sell our VWL points and buy at OKW (he's one of those OKW "Fanatics"). Well, in the process, as we learned that OKW dues are cheaper so we could increase our # of points without significantly changing our monthly dues. So 175 points gone, 210 points bought. Works for me!

I have a "Minnie"mal contract of 175pts at BCV as sort of a big toe in the DVC pond. I'd love to pick up another 75 in my same resort and use month to keep things simple. I'm only a Toon afterall.

Hopefully as our family grows, we will buy more! We never have enough points!

I have 150 points at SSR. We only planned to go every other year fora week in a studio. Dh was afraid we'd lose the magic if we went too much, but without DVC, we would not likely go to a delux again. So, with DVC, we could save money and stay at a nicer place.

Doing the math, you may have figured out that we have WAY too many points. I probably should have hung out here a little longer before buying, but that's another story. Anyway, we have yet to take our frist trip and will beout of points by next September and have none available before Aug 07. YIKES! So much for having too many, but we're doing some special trips for our anniv. next year. I'm SURE we'll have leftovers after this!

I/we have 200 pts. at SSR. The add-on bug is going to bite again, I can feel it. I would like to have 300 pts. That should be enough. Yeah, right.

We have 200 points at VWL. I think we will be looking for another 200 pt contract as the kids get older, so they can each still have their own bed even when DS outgrows a crib. Also we wanted to have equal contracts so each child can have one some day. Right now, we have plenty of points for our needs and we even get to enjoy bringing family and friends with us to share the magic!

We're 220 at SSR. It was what we could afford for cash and works out well for now. We're currently only a family of 3. If our family grows, chances are, we'll add on. For now, we prefer to go at the lower point times, so this "size" contract fits us just right! The dog misses us if we're away too long!

313 at SSR
50 at BW

313 is exactly what we needed to cover our four weeks a year in a studio at SSR.

After trying to unsuccessfully switch to BW at the seven month window, we decided we wanted a small add on at BW. That way we could book BW at the eleven month window every other year.

With the add on, we have more than enough points. But it allows us to share. We are taking my older sister down the week after Thanksgiving for her very first trip.!!!!
