When we visited the Brown Derby, both my mom and I had the Green Goddess dressing. We both really liked it, but can't find it anywhere. So, does anyone know if this is just a creation of Disney's, or is it something we could find, if we looked in the right place? Any help would be appreciated!

years ago you could buy green goddes dressing, but i am not sure if it is still available. i have a weight watchers recipe for the dressing, but i am sure you can find it on the web. good luck.

No, Green Goddess dressing is not a disney creation. From Foodreference.com,

Green goddess dressing was created by the chef at San Francisco's Palace Hotel during the 1920s. It was created in honor of actor George Arliss who was appearing in a play called 'Green Goddess'. This classic dressing is a blend of mayonnaise, minced anchovies, chives, tarragon, parsley, scallions, and garlic.

As to buying it in a store, I've only seen it once, in a Whole Foods Natural Supermarket. The manufacturer was a small organic operation. Here's a link:

If you want to make it yourself, here's a recipie:

Wal-Mart sells Green Goddess dressing. It's made by Kraft/Seven Seas. It's good but it's not the same as the one they serve in restaurants.

I would contact Disney - go to their web site and use the contact button. I asked for the orecchiete pasta recipe from the Brown Derby and within 2 weeks I received an postcard with the recipe. They might respond. I also requested a recipe from Chefs de France but did not receive it. Just a thought.

The "Goddess" dressing Annie's sells is nothing like Green Goddess dressing. Annie's Goddess dressing is a sesame and scallion based dressing. It is very good but unlike Green Goddess dressing which has tarragon, sour cream and is green in color.

Seven Seas makes a Green Goddess dressing, unavailable in Massachusetts. I actually bought two big bottles of it at Winn-Dixie this October to bring back home.

There are many recipes available and it's fairly easy to make.

This is the recipe from the new Disney Recipes book:

1 cup Mayonnaise

4 tbs. Chopped parsley

3/4 bunch scallions, thinly sliced

1/4 cup sour cream

1/4 cup lemon juice

2 tbs. chopped tarragon

1 tsp. anchovy paste

1 tsp. dijon mustard

1/8 tsp. black pepper to taste

Combine all ingredients in a blender and process until smooth and creamy. Refrigerate at least 1 hour before serving. If dressing is too thick, thin down with a bit of milk.

I hope this helps.:D
