Has anyone ever made a green bean casserole in a crockpot? You know the one with mushroom soup and dried onions? If you have, what setting and how long did you cook it for? I'm using frozen green beans.

I was contemplating doing this as well. I am sure the beans will cook just fine in the crockpot, I am not sure the onions will toast in there though.

No, it must go in the oven to get the onions on top crunchy---it's going to be way to mushy if you cook it in the crock pot. You will have green been mush at the end, especially if you use frozen or canned beans.

Well, it seems to be working out just fine! I always mix the onions in anyway, so the mush factor doesn't bother me ;).
