check the park guide when you get there, but they are usually around on sunset blvd. they pull up in their toy story van and hang around for 20 minutes or so.
only one can talk, but i think the non-talking ones are even more fun. after you get your pic, just hang back and watch. by far, some of the highest comedy you'll see on your trip. everything from push-ups being given out, to games of tag.
One time we were in the tram headed out to our car when all of a sudden the GAM car came by and out pops 6 of them! My kids were in total heaven! They were out there directing traffic!
They're also in the MGM parade and they do show up around the Star Tours/Backlot Express/Sounds Dangerous area.
We found them in front of the Chinese Theater and big hat not long after park opening. They were great fun to watch! They picked on all the little kids in the crowd; made them do push-ups, etc.......
I was disappointed that I didn't get to see Woody and Jessie; my two "must see's" at MGM. Hubby and I had a meltdown at that park (he got a little fed up with my "commando" style) and we missed some things. But after we made up, he promised me that would be at the top of the list for next time!
BTW, we DID make up; we came home with a "little souvenir" that's arriving in November!!!!
Hoping to make it back in 2 yrs,

We saw them at Al's Toy Barn with Buzz, Woody, and Jessie. They were posing for pictures and signing autographs. I got a great picture with DS and an army man.
We saw the army guys right when we walked in to MGM. It was pretty close to opening time and there were a lot of characters there. My husband had just come home from Kuwait & took his picture with one of them.
On a side note-- I always wanted to come home with a 'souvenir' and never did! I guess I'll have to go again!
My family just returned from WDW (6/22-7/1). We got our pictures at Al's Barn back next to the Muppets-3D and in front of the big Mickey hat in the center of MGM.
I actually ran into them right by the BackLot Tour.....I was so excited as I have been trying to find them for years now and I always miss them!! I have lost the picture though, I've been digging through all of my vacation pictures trying to find it.......guess I'll just have to get another one!! ha ha
I always seem to run into them. Once, DBF and I were having a minor disagreement and one of them snuck up behind me and put his hand over my mouth. Another time, I was asking my nephew (16) which t-shirt we should bring home for a friend and several of them decided to help shop, holding up different t-shirts, giving them a thumbs up or down. Then, the same ones were walking around pointing out all the teenage girls to my nephew! They are really fun to interact with!
when i went in 95 when toy story just came out they escorted us as the park opened to tower of terror! i will never forget it because my sister really wanted to see them, and we met them right as we entered the park
While we were in line at Al's Toy Barn (at MGM) a few days ago to see Jessie, Woody, and Buzz, a green army man was walking around the area and picking on various people walking by. He gave us an autograph and posed for a picture too.
In 1996, DH and i were on our honeymoon. We bumped into a whole line of them walking around MGM. It was fun to see them.
Oh wow... I had no idea they had them there! My son would love to see them. Is this a "luck" thing if you happen to be just in the right place at the right moment or is there something saying where they'll be (and when) so you can work it into your plans to see them on your trip?
