So, we have two rooms booked, two reservation numbers.

Does that mean we get two gift cards?

Greedy, I know.

We do, too, and the CM said we would get 2 cards.
Woo Hoo! :cool1: :cool1:

FWIW, I don't think it's greedy at all. Just smart use of the deal. :thumbsup2

A quick question to OP. When you booked 2 rooms, did you have to put down two deposits?

thanks

Each reservation would require a $200 deposit.
And each reservation (package) during the specific time frame would mean a $200 gift card.

So what can you do with a gift card? (We're only getting one, since we could only bump up one reservation and not the other.) I don't really buy shirts or souvenirs or anything.

It be great if I could use it for tipping, but I strongly doubt it.

Snacks, I presume. Anything else?

If it's a normal Disney Gift Card, then you can use it for food, I think tips too. You can use it to pay off your next vacation. Pretty much anything in the parks. We buy pins! And alcohol!

I did this last night and got 2 gift cards! :cheer2:

Some advice: if you need the rooms to be connecting, Disney will guarantee them (assuming the ages of your kids qualifies you for this), even though you're booking 2 separate reservations. Still, I asked the CM working with me to put it into the notes just to be safe.

I never heard anything about guarantee with our 2 room ressies. The booker did put down the note, though.

Yup! :thumbsup2 We'll be getting 2 giftcards too. And I think I read on another thread that you CAN use them for tipping.

Not greedy at all, smart like a PP said. Glad to hear others have done this too, the CM I spoke with last night was wonderful but I was just concerned she may have worked something out that might not be kosher and might be taken away at a later date. Sounds like it was fairly common!

Is is just my imagination, or will the gift card offer work against Disney in that many might choose NOT to do the dining plan now since the cards are good for food? That's what I decided, no sense paying that much money for dining when we already have $400 (2 GC) towards food anyway.

Thinking of making the two ressies but only putting dining on DH and Ds and then sharing with myself and DD. Is that a good move from a cost perspective? kids are both 14 so paying adult but I think we can stretch the food and make up the difference with the 2 gift cards.
