left home, charlotte n.c. area , around 1:00 a.m. arrived daytona beach around 8:00 a.m. walked on beach for about 45 minutes " family tradition " arrived at sharaton safari hotel for 1st day at 11:00 a.m. room was not ready so they held our luggage so we could use the pool. already temp was in the 90's. swam ate lunch at mickey d's at crossroads. room finally ready at 2:00 p.m. nice room, no view, great beds. that evening drove to disney boardwalk and ate at espn club. parking is free and the boardwalk is beautiful. got to see interview with superbowl m.v.p. patriots wr at the espn club. food was very good. left boardwalk at around 7:00 and drove to downtown disney and walked around the shops and sightsee the other attractions.got to bed around 12:00 a.m. " had not been asleep for over 24 hours, thank god for coffee " checked out at 7:00 a.m. and drove to rpr to check in for the next 4 nights. it is monday morning july 4th, and we arrived at the beautiful royal pacific resort. we checked in at 8:00 a.m. room was not ready but they held our luggage for us. there was no line, and we were upgraded to water view and park view. we had room 3536, and it was wonderful, you could see the pool and the hulk coaster. we got our room keys to use fotl and off to the parks we went. our party consists of me " single dad 43yr young , oldest son 22, middle daughter 15 " ouch ", and youngst son 13. we had annual passes purchased off the universal website. we were told to pick them up inside the gate at customer service, after close to a hour at customer service and vacation service we had our passes, " you don't want to know ". our first ride was the mummy " first time " we had a blast. ride attendant name " Kevin " was super if anyone in authority reads these boards he needs a raise he was like one of the family " more on him later " we rode all of universal studios rides and most shows " horror makeup show several times " we left parks at 3:00 p.m. and our room was ready. we did the pool till about 7:00 p.m. and went back to parks, this time ioa, and did hulk, spiderman, jurrasic park river adventure and duelling dragons.now it was time for the fireworks, we got a spot at the bridge outside ioa leading to margaritaville. after a hour of delay, " lightning " we saw the most awe inspiring fireworks we have ever seen !!! we then ate at margaritaville and listened to the cool band there " stone cold or something " we returned to rpr at about 2:00 a.m. day 2 tomorrow !!!
