GMA just did a news story about dollar stores. Their expert said not to buy anything electrical from the dollar stores, as they were finding they were prone to fires. Apparently it is very easy to fake the UA symbol on them. And also to never buy any electrical item that doesn't have that seal right on the item, on the box doesn't count!
They also said to not buy anything you put in your mouth, as much of the stuff sold is made over-seas, and just not up to our health standards. No food, no pill, no toothpaste. Well, unless you recognize the brand and are sure it is not a knock-off.
For what it is worth, I just thought I would pass this along. Even if you do buy this stuff at the dollar store, knowing to be careful and look at what you are getting is not a bad thing.
Ditto, thx for reminder to always check date and distributed by whom
when making many of his puchases. The soy milk I made mention of is distributed by Broomfield, Co. and the dry fruit we buy there is Chesapeake, Va. However, I have read articles that some of their candies, etc. are outdated and have been known to have worms in them.
