Great Wolf Lodge?

We always check in at 9, no problem, no lines.

Every time we went we checked in before the park even opened for the day-no problem. A few times our room was ready at that time too yet other times our room wasn't ready until 5pm (that sucked!) but we could still use the water park all day.

I don’t know why people wait until later to go to the waterpark, we check in and are the first in, grab a table to use for the day, and enjoy the slides with no waits. Since we usually go with a big group, it’s a contest who gets their rooms first. I believe they say no outside food, but we’ve always brought in coolers and set up tons of food on the tables, just no glass.

I think we are talking about the same one in LaGrange GA? They are taking reservations now and you can save 30 per cent using the code Grand.

Yes that is the one. Their opening date is May 31, but we are checking in at WDW on the Tuesday May 29th with a free dining bounceback...we are thinking of going down early and staying offsite a couple nights and GWL would have been great for those days even tho it is still in Ga, lol. We can't do it at the end of our trip as everyone has to get back to work.

Might have to ride by that area next time I visit my son who lives between Newnan & LaGrange.

I'm only about an hour away from LaGrange.

We have gone 5x to GWL (two different ones). Most stays were 2 nights, once we did 3 nights (but we were also doing a lot of other things in the area), and once just 1 night. My kids love the Magiquest game just as much as the waterpark. When they tire of the water, they then spend hours running around with their wands. The time we only did 1 night though, we decided we were only doing the waterpark - it's too short a time to do both the waterpark and Magiquest, in my opinion. I do like going 2 nights so we have one full day that doesn't involve moving in or out of the room, but the 1 night trip we did worked out just fine as well.

We have been to the one in Wisconsin Dells a few times. I take my grandson over spring break and use Diamond resort points. He loves it. He is a teen now and took a friend last year. They had a blast. We stay a min of two nights and have stayed three. It’s a 4 hour drive and I just like to hang out and go out to dinner. I take them to arcades and other indoor amusement parks for go carting etc. I personally don’t go into Wster. The rooms are fine considering how many cups of fruit punch must have been spilled!
My parents have gobs of Diamond Resort points - too many for them to use in one year - so they give them to us kids. Last year were were able to book 3 nights right before Christmas in a huge suite at Great Wolf Lodge (Wiliamsburg). We booked over Thanksgiving and there was still tons of availability. This year we tried to book 3 nights in the Great Wolf Lodge (Poconos) for the same time in December and there is ZERO availability. Just for kicks, I checked for availability in all the GWLs in the USA - no availability at any of them. I don't know if we just got super lucky last year or if something is going on with the Diamond/GWL rerlationship.

We've been to the one in VA several times now, starting when DD2 was 3. It's fun, and one night is about right. I will say, wait for a deal before getting a room. There's deals regularly.

Poconos is expensive and popular, you have the NYC metro area.

I get that; that's what I thought at first too. But then I checked every Great Wolf Lodge in the whole United States from October through December and there was zero availability through Diamond Resorts. They all had rooms and suites available through the GWL website for Christmas week though. That is when I began to wonder.

Hmm. I just checked the possibility for an upcoming day off (Friday) for my kids and could find availability at the ones in Concord & Williamsburg. Maybe they were having website issues when you checked.

There is plenty of availability on the GWL website, but no availability on the Diamond Resorts website for using Diamond Resort points to book GWL. I had no problems using points to book last year, but this year there is zero availability. Just checked for 1 night in Williamsburg from Nov 7 - Dec 30...nothing. Are you looking at availability through the GWL website? That is totally different than what I'm talking about.

We have done the Great Wolf Lodge probably around six or seven times when my kids were younger. We live relatively close to one and they would send out "good neighbor discounts" in the Spring and Fall which brought the cost down significantly. It's been a while since we've gone since my kids are all grown now so I don't know if they still run promotions like that.

For us one night (2 full water park days) was always enough because by the second day the grownups were exhausted! We usually traveled with a large group of friends and their children.

We've been to the NC location several times. Just last month we went for 4 nights - originally going for 3 (first night was a $119 rate, got an email to add a 2nd/3rd night for 30% off lowest rate, so we did), but the day before we were supposed to leave our house, the power went out. We didn't want to sit around in the dark so we called and they had a room - not quite as cheap but they threw in a $50 resort credit and a 2pm checkout.

We (3 kids, ages 11, 10, and 6, plus my husband and myself) were not bored for a second. The water park was great, MagiQuest was a HUGE hit - my kids played it every day. Well worth the $$. We ate at their buffet once for breakfast (just "meh") and twice for dinner (surprisingly good) - and drove to Walgreens for snacks and fast food for other meals.

4 nights, 5 people, hotel and waterpark, Magiquest for 3, 3 buffet meals: Probably $1400? Sounds right. Other expenses were ice cream and snacks, and meals off-site. I think that's a pretty good deal. And the longest line for a slide was about 5 minutes.

Sign up on their website for their email alerts. That's how I got the best rate.
