Anyone been? Would it be good for a 3 & 7 year old? One day enough? There is one opening about 200 miles from us. Thinking about taking the kiddos but not sure. Any advice appreciated.

We have gone a few time when our kids were smaller. The one closest to us is small and doesn't have the bigger slides. It worked out awesome for us. My daughter who was afraid of the bigger slides (she was about 3 or 4 at the time) had enough smaller slides (like the size of a play ground slide) to keep her busy. I would wait at the bottom of the slide while she went by herself to the slide. I could see the whole way. As they got a little older we were able to let them roam by themselves and still be able to keep an eye on them.

We always did one night but we only did the swimming. There is an arcade, spa for the kids, and a game that they can play (kind of like a scavenger hunt around the resort) they can do. They also have a bed time story in the lobby too that is really cool. My kids really loved going. 1 night was enough for us but if we stayed longer it would only be for 2 nights. I am not sure if we would have wanted to stay longer if it was one of the bigger resorts.

They do have a kiddie area that looks like a lot of fun, but overall, I think it is a place better suited to those tall enough to experience all the slides. It's a cute place though. We have been to the local one near Disneyland three times now. We go annually for our son's birthday in March.

We took our kids to the one in Kansas City right after it opened...the boys were 4,6,and 8. It was great! We had to be with the little one all the time, of course, but it was fun. We went to the one in Dallas a few times when they were older. Still great fun. If you can manage to go in the middle of the week,do. It will be more enjoyable with smaller crowds.

It's lots cheaper Sun through Thurs nights, and less crowded. If you go, check in here is supposed to be at 1. However, we've gotten there at noon, and checked in no problem. At 1 there is a huge line that snakes through the lobby, so avoid it if you can. Our kids absolutely love GWL!! If you spend one night, you get that day, plus the next day to spend in the waterpark. There's a Walmart right near ours, so we get sandwiches and salads there for supper. If your kids do the Magiquest, save the wand, because you can pay to reactivate it for future visits.

I think one night is plenty. That gets you two days in the waterpark. I think it is perfect for your ages.

We always check in at 9, no problem, no lines.

Slightly off topic, but I was reading earlier, that there is supposed to be a Great Wolf Lodge opening near Disney Springs in Orlando. The article I read had no details on dates, but sounds exciting!

Never been, but thanks for the reminder. One is opening close to us in May. Wish it were opening just a few days earlier than May 31 tho as we will be in Disney World then but were planning on going a couple days earlier. Would have been great to do a couple days at GWL then on to WDW!

Yeah, it will be on the other side of I-4, very close to Disney Springs.

It is going to take some customers away from Disney that is for sure.

We have been to the one in Wisconsin Dells a few times. I take my grandson over spring break and use Diamond resort points. He loves it. He is a teen now and took a friend last year. They had a blast. We stay a min of two nights and have stayed three. It’s a 4 hour drive and I just like to hang out and go out to dinner. I take them to arcades and other indoor amusement parks for go carting etc. I personally don’t go into Wster. The rooms are fine considering how many cups of fruit punch must have been spilled!

I think we are talking about the same one in LaGrange GA? They are taking reservations now and you can save 30 per cent using the code Grand.

We’ve been to the one in California a few times. Our family loves it. I think their staff is excellent at keeping an eye on everyone. We didn’t have one when my kids were 3, but even when my youngest was too short for the big slides she loved the kids play area and wave pool (with us of course).

We tried all the extra stuff except magic quest one visit (bowling, mini golf, arcade) and I didn’t feel like it was worth the cost. The kids were done too fast.

I think one day is plenty because you can enter the water park at 1 or 2 the day you check in and can stay until closing the day you check out. We usually leave by 3.

Yes they are. The original owners live in Wisconsin Dells and word is they are building near Disney. I just found this announcement. I wonder what is taking so long.

Great Wolf Resorts, a Wisconsin-based water park resort chain, is planning a huge new resort near Walt Disney World, its first resort in Florida. Plans call for an 800-unit hotel, on 50 acres just across Interstate 4 from Disney Springs.Nov 18, 2015

We've been to the KC one three different times over the last two years. We didn't do all the events they offer. We did the story time once. We've never purchased the wand and did the game magic quest that goes with it. Basically we were waterpark and arcade. My kids were always tall enough to do it all and could swim, so maybe that made it better. I still think for a younger kiddo it would be fun. I saw tons of babies and toddlers every time. One of the times we went it was warm enough to do mini-golf, so we did that. We also went out to eat from there, didn't always use the on-site dining. My kids loved the arcade. Each time we did an early arrival a little after 12, so we could use the waterpark before check-in time. I'd check the front desk first each time to see if we could do early check-in, and twice our room was ready. We only stay one night. Now we live just a bit too far away from KC to go again :(

We try to get to the GWL in Niagara Falls at least once a year. My kids were 1 and 4 on their first trip and they loved it! They're much older now and they still love it! We've stayed for one night, but we always prefer 2 nights.

We love Great Wolf Lodge too! We've been to the one in Massachusetts twice with our son and nephew when they were young teens. We stayed two nights and it felt happily longer because it was just such a different environment.

If you go in late November or December, ours had a huge gingerbread house in the lobby. For a donation to charity, you could have breakfast or dinner in it!
