Great Wolf Lodge - whats the lowest price you've gotten

The best rate I have ever gotten at the Lodge in Williamsburg was $89 for a regular room during mid week

Ok after reading this thread I am livid! We paid 330 in July for a family suite 6 people ( Monday night). In two weeks we are paying 589 for kids suite for 6 ( Sat)! How is possiable you guys got these so cheap? We always go to Pocono because we live near Binghamton NY.

Well, I would say you are paying a high price because you are going during Spring Break and staying a Sat. night (peak night). I also think you may have to pay for waterpark passes for the 5th & 6th person?? When I called and researched for the Wisconsin Dells one, most of the packages included only 4 water park entries.

If you want cheaper rates, you need to go off peak and during the week.

Just a heads up for anyone who might be thinking of going to the new one in Mason, Ohio, I live in the area, and it's been all over the news about guests and employees alike getting sick while in the building, and they have NO CLUE as to why it's happening. So yeah, you may want to avoid it for awhile until they figure it out. ;)

We live near there as well and it was an isolated problem. Too much chlorine! We were there last weekend and it was fine.

We payed top dollar (over 200.00) nightly=
never got any discount, we aren't doing them anymore. Overpriced!
FL is much better choice for us.....
We were in both areas at the time with our kids, that's why we did it=
with some advance notice=still not worth!

4/10 back to SUNNY FL!! YES!:cool1:

I am going to the GWL in Williamsburg this Thursday and paying $174 for a family suite. The rates really go up during late March and April and they are always higher on the weekends. I opted to stay on a Thursday night for that reason.

Does anyone know how far apart Williamsburg and Lorton VA are?

It actually seems to be hit or miss. Our neighbors were also there last weekend (Sun-Mon) and her kids got rashes. They went away within a day or so, but still, you have to wonder what caused them?? Others that we know that were there were fine. We were supposed to go also, but since our kids have asthma, thought it was best to say away b/c of the reports of respiratory problems. :confused3

Exactly! We have been to GW in Michigan many times and the prices fluctuate with the season. If you stay a Fri and Sat night you will pay more. We have found that Sun- Tues instead of a weekend is great!
I also experiment with their deals on the web and then call the lodge and see if they can beat it...they always have given me a little bit better deal when I have called.
We just got a flier yesterday in the mail:

Spring Break rates are March 30 thru April 15
April 16- May 10 Sunday thru Thursday a Family Suite is $129/night....you have to book by April 1st. The code is EARLY

Over two hours, according to mapquest (135 miles).

thank you.. was trying to see if it was worth aa trip for 1 night after coming home form disney on the auto train..

Does anyone know what age they start charging for an extra child?

If it is the same Lorton I am thinking of (near Springfield) about 3 hours.

Kelly

I live a little bit north of Springfield and it isn't 3 hours. 2.5 hours.

less if the traffic is good and well considering DC rush hour traffic is could be A LOT more from 4-5 hours ( and don't get be started if there is a traffic accident!!)

I usually make it in 2 - 2.5 hours if I leave early.

With Lorton being a bit South of Springfield, it might be 2 hours or less. I guess it depends on how fast you drive.

Extra guests cost 20 bucks a piece at the Lodge, 3 and above I believe. My son loves GWL and we went 4 times in the last 5 months. I usually go when I can get a decent price 200 or less on the weekend and there is something going on. I have been during Halloween weekend and they had several events for the kids and Valentine's weekend.

The Cub Club is nice too.

Here in Kansa City you can get a room (Family Suite) for about 159.00 on an Sunday Thru Thursday. Also, we have found that if you book the family suite and when you get there ask if you can upgrade to a kids cabin or other higher priced rooms they will upgrade for free. We have stayed in every kind of room that they have and have never payed for more than a family suite. Also, I have noticed if you call the hotel (not the 800 #) but the actual hotel and see if they have any rooms that were not booked, they will greatly discount them for that night, I have paid like 75.00 for that but it is last minute when you do it that way. We love it there, sometimes the adults like it better than the kids.
GOOD LUCK!!!!

Thanks.. Is Williamsburg North or South Lorton? We will be heading home to NJ. Don't know if I want to backtrack and risk getting stuck in all that traffic.

So the 3rd child over 3 will be another $20? Figures My dd will turn 3 a few days before.. and my son will turn 2 they day we may check in.

I got an opening special at WIlliamsburg a few years ago and paid $169 family suite and was upgraded to Magestic Suite for the same price...It was awesome..

You will be backtracking. Williamsburg is East of Richmond so you will have to drive south of Lorton then east.

There is another route to get back to NJ without having to go back to Lorton. If you drive to Virginia Beach and take the Bridge over into Maryland you can drive up that way for a nice scenic drive. And thus you wouldn't be getting stuck in DC traffic.

You don't have to may for the 2 year old. I'm not sure if you have to pay if they are 3. I never had to pay for my son since he was two and the waitress would not charge my son even though he had turned 3. So this may be something to ask them.

you get four passes with a family suite and can have two more guests in addition to that.

If your kid signs up for the Cub Club they get a free meal during the month of their birthday.

PM me with any questions.

We got a bunkbed suite with dinner ans breakfast for the 5 of us for $369.00 in January. I thought it was a great deal with the food being included. This was in the Poconos on a Thursday night.

We paid $365 for a kidcabin suite (sleeps 7) in the poconos in january. The resort appeared to be BOOKED SOLID, but we still had a blast. I would go again, even for the outrageous price- but next time I will bring my own food!

We were thinking of going to the one in Mason, OH but I think I am going to hold off on that until everything gets cleared up. While it is a low percentage of people getting ill, I would rather play it safe. But I am keeping my eyes open for codes!

We visited the GWL in Mason OH over NYE weekend. It was a blast. The kids still talk about it.

Regarding the post about Kalahari resort in Sandusky. We also visited this resort in Feb '06. This place is fun for older kids. I have a DS who was 8 and DD who was 2 1/2. DS had alot of fun, but there was nothing for DD to do but 2 baby slides which got old real fast. Most of the slides have a height restriction of 48". At GWL, at least in Mason DD could ride everything with an adult except the rollercoaster.
