We had a great trip last week, family of four with DD11 and DS10. It was our 4th trip in 7 years so we had a lot of the ride stategies down pat but I definitely applied some foodie tips from these boards. We did a few things for the first time and they lived up to everything said on this board:
-Tangerine Cafe: Lamb gyro plate might have been the best thing I ate the whole trip and DH agreed
- Finally tried a Dole whip and it more than lived up to the hype
- Grand Marnier slushy was delish and well needed for a cool down
- SciFi: Stuck with the burgers and grilled chicken sandwich and both were excellent and the dining experience was great, it was so quiet, cool and relaxing in the theater, a nice respite from the hot hustle and bustle in the park
- Kringla Cafe: YUM
One thing I haven't seen on these boards, maybe I just missed it. The pretzels and bratwurst at Sommerfest is delicious and the beer is 50 cents cheaper than at the cart and other beer counter in Germany. Hey, every penny counts
Pecan fudge from the candy shop is yummy as well.
I kept saying to DH, "the boards haven't steered me wrong yet". Initially being the skeptic, even he started to agree after while. He started explaining my internet fact gathering for the trip to somone on the plane on the way home...I thought that was pretty funny. A true convert.
Stayed 7 nights at GF, great lobby and loved the band and orchestra at night but the room and service were quite a disappointment. Watching the fireworks while in the pool was quite a once in a lifetime, magical event
Feel free to ask any questions.
