A couple of friends, my daughter and I all went to Richmond, VA to see Elvis Costello this past weekend. DD is 14 and had never heard of Elvis before, but she wanted to see her first concert and what a concert it was!!! Incredible!
We got to stay in a Courtyard by Marriott for a measly $12 thanks to DH having points there. We ate at a restaurant right next to the concert venue and they allowed their diners into the show early, so we ended up right in the front row!
After the show, we walked around the building to get to our car and there was a small group of people standing outside the tour buses in the rain, so we joined them and got to meet Elvis and shake his hand. Unfortunately, my friend's lens fogged on her camera, so we got no pictures, but it's something none of us will ever forget. He was so sweet and gracious.
My daughter is now a big fan of Elvis Costello.
I love introducing my kids to the music from my childhood!
Edit to add a pic -- this is how close we were!
