For anyone interested...the Yacht Club is a really nice resort. We have an amazing view from our balcony (we can see Stormalong Bay, The Boardwalk, and the fireworks from Illuminations). The room is clean, the mousekeeping great, the walk to Epcot only about 7 min, the walk to MGM way too long so we take the boat. Definitely worth a little extra $$$.

Just a couple of pet peeves, many park guests are pigs. They have garbage cans every 3 feet here, yet many people throw their garbage on the ground, leave it on top of the trash can, just throw it on the floor of the bus, etc. Also, I just love walking behind a group of people walking side by side taking up the whole walkway, and when you say, "excuse me please" to try to walk by they are rude and obnoxious.

Finally, it is very easy to cut someone off in line (especially in the mosh pits, I mean pre show areas, of Test Track, Dinosaur, etc. Please have patience when some one cuts you off unintentionally and then apologizes.

I agree with you 100% about that. When my family and I were just in WDW I noticed at some counter service locations guests would leave their food on the table and not walk a few feet to put in the garbage. The other thing I noticed was on the Atrium Club Level floor at the Contemporary in the lounge and outside their rooms. In the lounge once again their would be people who don't throw away their food and leave it on the tables, so the Cast Members working up there need to clean it up themselves. The only thing these guests had to do was walk over to this table tray and put their dirty plates on it, then the Cast Members would take it to the back room. The other thing is if some people brought food from the lounge to eat in their room, they would leave the plate of food once they had it outside the door for housekeeping to pick up. The room next to my family someone left a plate with bones of ribs and chicken wings out for a few hours, when in that whole time they could have walked to the lounge and thrown it out, along with giving back the plate.

So glad you're having a great time! Sounds like you have a room similar to the one we stayed in. It was so great to just sit on the balcony and watch Illuminations. We also loved just watching the people walking and riding the surrey bikes.

I totally agree with you about how downright nasty some guests can be. On our last trip, we actually saw a guy get off the bus with us at POFQ and turn around and throw his (and his son's) drink cups back onto the bus!!! There were still people on there headed for POR, but it was like they didn't matter to him at all! My DH said something to him about being nasty and the guy just shrugged his shoulders and said something to the effect of it not being his problem anymore. Unreal.

I do love the YC - I have stayed there a dozen times over the last 10 years. Seeing some of the Illuminations fireworks from your balcony is fun, but, of course, you miss so much of the show when you can't see the fire or water effects or the globe.

As to walk times, I have found the walk to Epcot to be less than 7 minutes (closer to 5) and the walk to MGM to be about 20 minutes, which is much faster than the boat.
