Great Teacher Discount?

Someone mentioned this in another thread, I can't find any info.

Does such a discount exist?

They may have been referring to the swan and dolphin teacher rates

I have called Disney about this before. The only teacher discounts they offer are for rooms at the Swan or the Dolphin. These, however, do not allow you to purchase the dining plan which saves you an incredible amount of money. I am a teacher and appreciate the discount available at these hotels; however, I'm hooked on the dining plan!

I love the DP too, but...

We were able to get the teacher discount on the Dolphin in Nov, during a time when there are no discounts for Disney resorts, using the teacher rate. We got $160 a night for standard. (plus tax and $10 resort fee) The Beach Club next door is $370 a night. Even with transportation from MCO, that's still alot of $$ leftover for food.

Swan and Dolphin offer discount for government employees too as well as nurses. My husband is a firefighter and said we qualify but also have a hard time giving up ME and DDP. However, with 3 kids, we may consider it in the future. It's still a good deal. Certain times of year it's down to $99 for this discount.
