Arrived at BCV around 11 on June 15th, checked in, room wasn't ready, got the keys for my DFs who would be joining me for the day and went to the solarium to wait. The CM's really keep the windows clear in that room, I'm so impressed, it's hot as can be outside, but it looks as if the windows are opened! DFs came around noon, we went to B&C, 1/2 hour wait is what we were told, and that was about it. Toward the end of our meal I got a call that our room was ready, and it was probably 1:30. 2nd floor studio, 243...new shower curtain gave off a very antiseptic smell, but we were off to SAB and a great afternoon of relaxtion and just being together. Bev and I have been friends since kindergarten 55 years ago. Since she's moved to Florida and we've bought DVC we see each other a few times a year, much more frequently than when we lived in Ohio and they lived in NJ!
Our room had an extra handrail in the toilet area and it's something I like, a little assist without being a fully accessible room. DH asked at the desk what it was called, and I will be calling MS to see if that's a room type. I'm not at the point that I have to have one, but it is nice knowing I can have it.
We've never been to BCV in the summer months and I'm glad that SAB opens at 9AM and so on our checkout day, Wednesday, DH and I were able to use the pool for an hour before checking out of the room. The CM's at the Marketplace are very helpful, and DH and I both love the salads they make, and I'm partial to the Cape May clam chowder. For me, it's a must have. I managed to pass on the baked goods/gellato, but the clam chowder?... no way, I had it twice!
DH came late on Monday night, so we had Tuesday together to enjoy Epcot and we enjoyed Kim Possible, "What's your Problem", The TRowe Price Piggybank game, The Sounds of Summer Concert (Staying Alive!....excellent!!!) We had great luck with busses, boats, weather...for instance, we went to the first concert, unusual for us, but we were quite tired from just being at Epcot all day...well, by 8 there were severe thunder/lightening storms in the area and we were happily in our room. Oh yes, we had lunch at CdF and got to enjoy a chat with Remy!
Wednesday was our "no room for the day" day, but we had a great day at Studios after the morning swim and checking out of BCV. DH and I enjoy the AIE, and our goal was to get to 2 day shows as well as the finale, and we did. All the finalists had good performances and we enjoyed seeing/hearing them. At the Animation studio we waited in line to meet the UP characters, did a cartoon drawing of Goofy (That's something I like to do and keep as a remembrance) and we had been lucky enough to arrive at HS after noon and still get a fastpass to Toy Story MM which had a time after the AIE...as I said we were very very lucky with just about all random aspects of going to WDW! We had dinner at H&V which we both enjoy very much, it's a once or twice a year dinner that we look forward to having.
Arriving at AKV, Jambo at 9PM Wednesday, we found that our VALUE studio was a savannah one, and so, that was another great thing! We saw many many animals on the savannah during the 2 night stay! As far as the buses go, we don't go early and we usually aren't coming home late, and I only had to stand once. I do sort of "hate" passing Jambo because Kidani is the first stop after the parks, but, well, one of them has to be first and sometimes we will stay at Kidani again. For this trip, my "goal" was to have a 50 point stay, and 2 nights BCV/2 nights Value Jambo came to 50 points, a true bargain in my opinion!!
DH left early on Friday ME picked him up at 8AM, my ME bus was at 5, so I went swimming, checked out at 11, gave my carry on to Bell Services and spent time at AK. I always enjoy FOLK...there were only 3 of the travelling singers, I hope it wasn't a CM cut, but only an off day for the 4th person. Flame Tree's ribs were delicious as usual. I enjoyed some other aspects of AK and I got back to Jambo around 3 when I sat in the common area and chatted with some other DVC owners....it was such a wonderful, relaxing trip.
ME came right when it should. I hate going home, but glad our next "couple" trip isn't that far away...the last weekend in September...AKV concierge for one night and BCV...if we're going to 2 resorts, those are our choices!
