Great Stay 10/26 -10/31 BCV

We are currently at Vero Beach in an OVIR for 6 nights after spending 5 nights in a studio at BCV for F & W fest.
Our studio Villa, # 106 was in Perfect Shape.
After reading all of the really negative reviews here and also on the Resorts Board BC/YC thread I was very worried about the current condition of the BCV pre-renovation. Upon check in I looked for problems - stained couches, chipped tables, broken hinges on cabinets, mold and dirty grout, and none of these were true.
I asked DH, who does not read the DIS, his assessment of the Villa and he agreed it was in perfect shape.
It was clean and everything functioned as it should.
Our only "sniggle" - this was our first time in a ground floor room. While I loved the location we both felt the patio cement slab could have been about 1 foot wider. Never was, never will be. Just an observation.
I agree it is time for a renovation of BCV. But I often think folks compare the DVC Villas to the "Deluxe Resort - BC". The Villas are themed and are not Deluxe Resort anywhere USA décor. I love the theme and I can stay in "Deluxe Resort anywhere USA décor" anywhere else.
We had a great stay and can't wait to go back again

It seems that the only time people post about BCV these days are to inquire about a refurbishment or to complain about how gross it is. Glad to hear that you were happy with your stay. Looking forward to our stay at BCV right after Thanksgiving.

Thanks for the update! We leave in two weeks for nine glorious nights at our home resort, BCV, in a 1BR. We've been at OKW for the last few visits, so this will be the first trip back to BCV in about two years. I admit the grumblings about the shabbiness of the place have caught my attention as well. However, I'm hopeful we will find our accommodations to be up to Disney standards.
