We just returned from a split stay at SSR. We were there for NYE and then went on a cruise. We returned to SSR on Jan 7th for 2 nights. After discussing the trip with the family we all agreed that the WDW part of the trip was the most enjoyable. Here is a breakdown of our SSR info:
The resort is great. We really like that it is away from the parks and gives you time to turn off. The rooms are realy soundproof and you do not hear Downtown Disney at all.
There are only two problems with this resort. I have to wonder if the resort is that it will outgrow itself. The main pool is really too small for all the rooms that they have planned. They should plan on another theme pool along with all the quiet pools.
The second problem is the Artist Palet. The food was below par and not really interesting to us. They need to add a sit down restuarant. They could incorporate the spa and golf course into this and make it a really nice place to have a meal or snack.
Our first room was 1826: studio that looked directly at Pleaseure Island. Great room and wonderful New Years Eve view of the Fireworks
Our Second room was a 1bdr facing the Cirque tent room # 2426, this room was also lovely. The best part was the washer and dryer. They were not only very quiet but also very quick. I am used to the ones at the BCV which take all day to dry something.
We will be staying here again in the near future.
Any questions please ask
