Great real estate site, very unique

Where were you looking? They were very low in our neighborhood, $100,000 or more around my home.
But it's fun to look at.

My sis lives in Cocoa Beach (Brevard County) and her old house was valued at $435k.

VERY COOL DAN! Thanks for sharing!

Dan, thanks for the great site! Milo loves looking at real estate around the country, dreaming about moving to a house on a lake in Florida!

I checked my house and the value was way low. About $250,000 low at least. And no, I don't have an overinflated idea of what my home is worth, I just know for a fact that no home on our lake has sold for even close to the price they listed in more than two years. Can you imagine some poor old couple believing that garbage and selling their home for a couple of hundred grand lower than it's worth? It could really hurt some people. :confused3

actually the range it gives for my house are the exact numbers that my last two appraisals were for
In September my home was appraised for $110,000.00 more than what this site has my house at.
But things have been skyrocketing around here, if you have saltwater in your yard it is liquid gold.
God bless the baby-boomers for inflating things.

This looks like a really cool site. But I have one problem with it. I looked up houses in my town and every house came up valued at $1000-$2000! Thats it! Now I know the houses around here are selling for $300,000 and up. So something just doesn't seem right. Also it seems to have a lot of facts missing. Maybe it doesn't deal with older houses well.

Do you happen to be in the Town of Hempstead? Every house I checked there comes up between $1K and $2K.

I looked up a house that we owned and sold 2 years ago. The sale price they had listed was $50K below what we actually sold it for. Interesting site, but not a whole lot of fun if they don't get the numbers correct...

I finally got it to work! It was close on mine - though I think we get could get the high end of the "range" not the "zestimate".

Mine is not assessed value either. I know what my assessed value is now and what it was before the last assessment. This figure is lower than either of those and also lower than what we paid for it in 1997. That also seems to be the case with the other houses on my street.
Mine too. Not only are the assessed values too low, but I hope no one checks out that site and thinks they could offer anything remotely similar to the values mentioned there. They are off by at least 40% in our neighborhood. (too low)

They don't have anything for our area but I looked at values in the town we are looking to move to and they show the assessed values which have nothing to do with the MARKET value of your home. They show what the house and land is assessed for for taxing purposes. You WANT that to be low otherwise you pay more taxes. I compared their figures to what the real estate agent sent us and they are exactly the same for the assessed value. They don't have the zestimate part available there yet.
