great rate at akl

i'm so excited!! i want to thank everyone here for all the good advice! i had booked akl standard view online at $239 because i didn't think i was eligible for any discounts. after reading here that there was a aaa discount available, i decided to call cro--10% would have saved me almost $200 for our week stay. i got the nicest operator who informed me that i had been sent a postcard (which i never received) with a pin number for a discount. he offered me the same room for $124 or a savannah view for $166!!! i almost fell off my chair!!! of course i opted for the better view and still saved $569. now i don't have to pray for an upgrade. my husband doesn't really get as excited as i do, so i had to share my story here--i'm sure many of you understand!!! thanks again for all the great advice.

That's awesome! I guess it pays for some people who never got a postcard to call and see if they are eligible anyway!

In '99 (before the boards) I booked a room at BWI for $300/night. A few months before my trip, I called and asked if there were any better rates (I had an AP) and she said they would give me the room for $220. I saved $400 for that week just for calling and "checking".

we will be there apr 23-30. i just called cro back to see what my rate for a deluxe room would be, thinking that i might upgrade, but the rate went from $166 to $270. i would like the extra space but that was more than i wanted to spend. do they ever offer a free upgrade from standard savannah view to deluxe sav view?? just wondering!!!

I wish I could get that rate. I tried to call to see if I had a code on my profile and the cm wouldn't even check for me. She also said AKL is almost sold out for my dates (4/30-5/7). Oh well, I guess I keep my POFQ ressies.

I did the same thing. Called and the CM told me I had a code attached to my name. Got the savanna view for only $185 including tax. I am going May 19-23. Just the girls this trip.

I got upgraded once to a Deluxe Savannah Room (and then I gave it back, bad view! LOL!)

i got a code too and the same rate for a savannah view-i did check concierge and it was 418/nite with the code! yeoch!
