Yesterday I got an email from Wyndham, I have their rewards card so they send me emails when they have really good rates. Well, when DBF and I were searching for hotels a couple weekends ago (ok I was searching, he was just telling me "find something cheap" LOL) I found a Motel 6 for about $46 a night, it was about 6 miles away, no free breakfast, 2 doubles, so not ideal. Well I got the email from Wyndham so on a whim I searched Anaheim for 11-25 thru 11-30 and up popped the Ramada Limited Main Gate North, this is the one on the other side of I5. Anyway, it popped up with rates from $44 so I checked and I reserved us a room for 5 nights for $2 more then what we would have paid at the Motel 6 that was 6 miles away!!!! This Ramada says it has a free hot breakfast and it's so much closer, oh and we get 2 queens instead of 2 doubles! So our total stay is right under $270 for 5 nights....not bad for Thanksgiving weekend, just thought someone else might want to check it out. :)

WOW!! What a great deal you got!!! Don't you dare tell my dh about it or he'll never let me book GCH again :rotfl:.

I'm trying out FFI for the first time tomorrow night. It wasn't that great a rate but it was free with MyPoints :goodvibes

Have fun on your trip! We'll just miss you.

We did the GCH once, we loved it but we just can't justify the extra cost when we go so much. So maybe, when we go back to once a year trips, or once every couple of years, then we will go back to staying on site, but for these last 3 trips we needed them to be super cheap so I was pretty excited to find that rate at the Ramada. We haven't stayed there before tho so hopefully it's decent.....our Dec trip is using points and our last trip is staying in Buena Park, unless I can get another killer rate for New Years weekend. :)

Bummer we will miss each other! :( That keeps happening to me......I'm just thisclose, but nope doesn't work out.....

Well, I hope that you will be okay with your choice. I have actually heard great things about the motel 6. The reviews for the Ramada Maingate limited are really quite bad. I personally booked there in error and while I know it was my mistake, the manager would not take my calls or return a call to me to discuss my situation. I was apalled by the level of customer service and would never risk my vacation staying in that place. I'm not telling you this to make your feel bad about your choice. If it was me, I would want someone to tell me. I will look forward to your review to see if you concur with the other people that stayed there.

sounds like a good deal as long as there is no bed bugs! I dont like bed bugs, cant wait for your trip report and pics of the room!

You've stayed at the Motel 6 in Fullerton? It's like 6-8 miles away? I've heard great things about the Motel 6 in Anaheim but they didn't have any rooms at all for our dates so no go there. Are you talking about the same Ramada I am? There are 2 on Harbor so I just wanted to make sure. :) We really aren't picky at all about hotel rooms, we are rarely there, just to sleep. Did you actually stay there? I do appreciate your feedback and I will be sure to let you know how it is when we get back. :)

I have stayed at the Ramada several times and I thought it was good.
Two queens and clean rooms. Bathrooms were cleaned too. Plus there is a restaurant - i think its Carrows? It is pretty good too.
Hope you have a good time!!! You cant beat the price!

Oh no, not Fullerton. That is a long ways. I'm sure the Ramada Limited will be fine. I did not stay there. I actually would have given it a try inspite of what I read after I had accidentally booked it. What actually happened is that I thought I was booking The Ramada Maingate for a great rate and accidentally booked a "nonrefundable" room at The Ramada Maingate Limited. I realized it as soon as I got my emailed confirmation, like 5 minutes later and started calling. (I had booked it 5 months in advance) It took me 3 months and at least 50 calls before the manager finally agreed to refund me 2 or the 3 nights I had booked. What really made me frustrated was that the manager was the only one that could make a decision, and he would not call me back or take my calls. It was so unacceptable. I mean talk to me and tell me I'm out of luck or what ever, but don't just ignore me. It just was a big red flag, and from all the reviews that I have read, managing the issues is not a strength that place has. Now, Lorealle at the Hojo's knows what customer service is all about, and I stay there even when the entertainment rate is not available just for that reason. Actually all the folks at HOJO's are an excellent example of how the hospitality business ought to work.

Anyhow...I would stay in just about any old fleabag to get to go to Disneyland:)

Nevermind. I was reviewing the Ramada Limited farther South on Harbor.

Kerri, is this the Ramada Limited Main Gate North? We stayed there October 2008. It's on the other side of Ball Rd. So, past the Hojo and cross Ball and it's on your left hand side. Not really on the corner, a little bit farther down.

It was fine. It was clean, but pretty old/runned down. That was really our only compaint was that it just needed to be spruced up. I don't know if we would stay there again though.

Hmm, before I did the booking I did check trip advisor and the reviews weren't all bad......And yes Courtney, it's the one over the freeway from DL. We really don't mind how run down it is, as long as it's clean we are fine. I'll be sure to review it when we get back. :)

And if it's that bad we will leave and stay elsewhere, which won't help the budget aspect of the trip but still.......LOL

Yes! It was very clean. That's why I wasn't complaining too much. It was clean.

One thing too was parking. If you come back late from the parks, you'll have a hard time finding parking. On the opposite side of the parking lot, over by where the front desk/lobby is, there's a Carrow's or something and those parking spots say "Parking for Carrow's costumers only", but we asked and you can park there and they won't tow you or anything. We didn't ask until our last night when we came back from the parks late and there was ZERO parking. The people at the front desk said it was fine and they would make sure nothing happened to our car.

But you did get a good rate!! I think we paid more for it.

Thanks for the parking info Courtney, I appreciate it. We do plan to drive to the parks so it's good to know we can park there. I will be sure to ask the front desk when we check in too. :) Our rates vary, the cheapest is $39 on Sunday night! I was shocked at how cheap it was, and we don't expect much because of that. Do you remember anything about the breakfast? Was it worth it or should I just take muffins and stuff for the room?

You're welcome, Kerri berri! You're my girl!

I don't remember anything about the breakfast. I'm guessing we didn't eat it because I don't remember. I think we woke up too late to eat it.
