I called Hanks @ OKW today, because DD & I want to book a massage during our stay (08/24-08/30), but I wasn't able to find a price listing anywhere. We'll be booking them soon........the prices were cheaper than I can book here at home! $65.00 an hour & $35.00 a half-hour, and you can book them for anytime between 8:00 am & 8:00 pm (they said the final booking is 7:00 pm for 1 hr & 7:30 pm for 1/2 hr. so that you finish up by 8:00). Thought someone else might be interested in the info; we can all use a chance to relax & pamper ourselves!

rbuzzota.......
Thanks for your recommendation for Allison. I called Hanks & booked appts. for DD & myself for Tuesday, 08/26 beginning @ 9:00 AM. They told me Allison only works a half-day on Tuesdays, but the timing was perfect for us! I'm realllllyyyyy looking forward to it; works been a zoo, I can use a stress buster.

I had a massage at OKW just a few weeks ago. Allison was the therapist and it was AWESOME!!

I was reluctant to get a massage as I had a really bad one a few years back and was sore for 3 days after (it was a deep tissue massage). DH made the appointment for me after I wrenched my neck on Big Thunder Mountain............

I am glad I went.............

I am going to OKW on Labor Day weekend and was looking into getting a massage. I will be 27 1/2 weeks pregnant then. I was wondering if anyone knew if they do prenatal massages or if they will give massages at all for pregnant women there?

I heard you can get a discounted rate. The only problem is that Richyams is the masseur. :teeth:

Since the masseuse isn't on staff and needs to be called in, it's smart to make your appointment in advance. (I believe that they request 24 hour notice.)

Members were getting discounts when DH had his. He really enjoyed it, but he still prefers the much pricier massages on the cruise ships. I think it has something to do with the atmosphere (or just maybe it's those gorgeous young ladies that staff the spa on the ships.) ;)

Yeah, it's not bad ....he even throws in a little sock-puppet skit at the end:jester:

Thanks for posting this! I will need to do massage when I am down there to help my Fibrlmyalgia, and I couldn't find any info on the Disney site about it still being available at OKW! Do I call MS to reserve this?

Allison is at OKW about 4 out of 7 days and the rest of the week it is staffed by another masseuse. I am sure you can make a reservation when you get there.........we had no problem.

DH went to VWL 3 times this vacation and made the reservation on the same day..........(he prefers the deep tissue massage there)

Does that mean you can only get a massage at OKW 4 days a week? Does it include weekends, and how do you find out about this? Also, are the massages done at the fitness center, or do they come to the room?

They do have other massuses as well as Allison

;) I highly recommend Allison though, she's wonderful. We've been getting a massage at OKW for a few years now everytime we go for at least a week as it's our favorite part of vacation and always request her when we book it -- we usually call the first day we check in and just find out what days she's available. Have never had a problem getting an apt. though. We normally go down to the fitness center where she has a massage room to get our massages but Allison has told us they will come right to the vacation home if you request it.:D I seem to remember her mentioning something about prenatal massage too - but not sure about weather she said they do them or if she wanted to learn the techniques -- it was a year ago now. And, as for prices, as far as I remember, it is $65 for members for an hour and I think it's $75 for NON-Members for an hr.

HTH's some;)

I think for $20 (might be more) extra the masseur/masseuse will come to your room or you can go to the gym (no extra charge) - your choice.
