great news from my fire house

hi all,
well first the bad,we got 3 new rookies.nothing against them but they are like lost little puppys.we have to keep an eye on them 24/7 so they won't get themselfes killed at any jobs.thats double the work at any emergency scenes.now i have 7 years and and some change on the job,but i swear i never looked that young 7 years ago.these 3 walked in to the fire house together to meet the staff and speak with the captain and chief.while they were in the office i walked in and asked the LT, i did'nt know we were having a kindergarden class visit the fire house today.

ok here it is,the great news.every 2 years,the FDNY does a boss rotation,a couple of LT's, and captains get transfered around the boro to other fire house.anyway we got one of these Lt's(btw LT's means Lieutenants )first i know him and have worked with him before he was a Lt,he is a good guy,very fair and understanding.Second and the best part,he is not a dis board member yet teeth: i get him to convert)but does go to disney more than i do.apperantly his dw is a airline worker,so he flies for free and his brother owns a home 10 mins away and that's where they stay.so see i'm not the only nut from the FDNY that loves wdw.now i just need to wait for the day on when he gets the task of asigning vactaion time in the fire house,and i will have it made.

dec,24-buy and pick up mrFDNY's x-mas present day.
dec,25-rewash the FDNY rig day.
dec,26-clean fire house kitchen for mrFDNY day.
dec,27-clean fire house lounge for mrFDNY day.
dec,28-uh oh,it rained rewash FDNY rig day.
feb-4-feb 15-work for mrFDNY so he can to to disney world month.

no, i haven't been back at ground zero since the day it offically closed.too many horrible and sad memory's.however a guy from my house was there at the towers at the end of the run to offer support for those running.i have heard its done very nice and tastefully.

Be nice??? I bet when MrFDNY was a newbie he had to do the same thing! I know my department wasn't exactly nice to me when I was on probation. Their best one was to use me to practice using our new backboards- they strapped me in and then carried me around and then wanted to see how strong the straps were so the flipped me over and turned me up-side-down . I screamed like a little girl.

Hey, be nice to the Probie's, we all were once. I'm just glad they have someone like you to break them in the right way. I remember my first call, thought I was going to have a heart attack on the jump seat. Have fun with them.

actualy we always pull the same prank on them.we advise them that the sink is full with dishes,hint,hint.we wait to there almost done washing all of the dishes and they say why did'nt you put them in the dish washer in the next room? its really funny,one of those thing you have to be there for,i guess to really under stand it.

We always like the one, where we tell them if we get a call to go over and take the poll. Just one problem, they took the polls out about ten years ago. Gotta love the look on their face. The other one we love to do is pull the house gong while the probies are indeposed (if you you know what I mean).
