Great Movie Ride?

I've seen diversity in opinions on the re-opening of the Great Movie Ride. I've seen (somewhere here I think) late April. I've seen others say May, and Deb Willis's site says late June. Does anyone have an official Disney line on this?

The new re-opening date is June 29, 2003

Due to Disney cutting worker hours and more specifically, Disney is no longer having a night maintenance crew working on this ride which means the rehab has been extended.

Thanks so much for the info. From the link you sent and a message on another board, it looks like cutbacks (lack of night maintenance) is causing the rehab time to increase. That stinks, but rather than go into a ten page diatribe about cutbacks ticking me off, I'll simply be mad now instead of in June. Better to be mad at work than on vacation!

That's the first day of our next trip. DS and I both love the Great Movie Ride.

DBF is gutted that this is still under rehab when we go - still we're back in December so we can get our fix then - it's one of our favourites - does anyone know what they are doing to it?

The spiel is going to be worked on a little bit, and the Fantasia scene is being replaced with something.

Also, the finale film is being updated, thankfully, (the finale now is as old as Armageddon).

What a bummer. I was hoping it would be up and running for our May trip. It is my 4 yr old DD's favorite. We LOVE the Wizard Of OZ part. Oh well, I guess another trip is in order!
