I may be out of the loop, but on one of our first times on this ride, there was a bank robbery scene, with fire etc... My dds thought it was awesome, but every time we've done it since, we haven't seen that scene again.
Do they still do it? and if not does anyone know why not?
Thanks!:thewave:

There are 2 scenes you can experience. One is the ganster scene. The other is the cowboy scene.

It depends upon what section you end up sitting in tram. The front section (I think) does the cowboy scene, the back does the Gangster.

:D

A Oz scene with the wicked witch and a Indiana Jones scene where a jewel is removed from idol.Have they stopped these scenes also.:wave2:

Nope. They are still there. Nothing has changed on this ride. It has all the scenes it has always had. Only thing different is that the showgirls in the very first scene don't rotate like they once did.

I refuse to believe in the cowboy scene :p

We rode this ride many times (even though we were often embarassed for the CM's 'acting'), trying to see the cowboy scene. We never did. If I didn't remember it from 12 years ago, we wouldn't have kept trying....

Also, Disneysteve, thanks for mentioning the non-spinnyness of the showgirls. I remembered that scene as much more than its current state (a scrim with snowflakes? It just seems odd.), but wasn't sure if it was due to my bad memory.

You are exactly right. There are 2 trams, which each have 2 cars when you enter the "soundstage". The tram that enters the ride first drives thru the ganster scene and then stops at the Western scene and will get the Western bank Robbery. The 2nd tram gets the 1930s bank robbery.

There isn't anything very noticeable changed on the ride. When they renovated, I heard they upgraded the sound system, cleaned and (if needed) replaced costumes and did some painting.

I think they may have updated the movie montage (sp) at the end. Although I could not tell you what was added or removed.

A CM told me about that one.

:D

As you enter the building the line splits in 2, this last time we went to the right and that put us in the first car so we had the western, we stopped at OZ and our driver came back at the jewel. % years ago we had the bank robbery so we must have gone to the left.

We were there in March and saw both of these scenes.

I really think this ride could use a bigger renovation or addition. I think a lot of the movies that they cover are classic, but the ride itself is somewhat outdated. There are several movies from MGM that came out much more recently that deserve a display.

This is only true during peak times. Every time we've been there in the past 5 years or so, there has only been one line so we didn't get to pick which tram to take.

And yes, they have updated the movie montage at the end.

Easy...Just ASK for the bandit scene tram. You will be asked to step aside until the bandit scene tram is loaded :)

I've only seen the cowboy scene once, but have seen the gangster scene many times. On my last trip, I heard a family ask the CM if they could be sure to see the cowboy scene. The CM said that they were only doing the gangster that day. This was over Easter week, so I was a little surprised.

Thanks for all your replies:flower1:

Next time we'll just ask for the cowboy scene:blush: , we really thought that they didn't do it any more for some reason

hi - utterly confused here - cowboy scene?

the way I remember this ride - it's always been the same.

1. stop at Oz.
2. stop at gangster - gangster takes over
3. stop at jewel - gangster gets out...original person takes over.

where were the cowboys?

I don't remember the exact order that you go through the scenes, but I believe all of the trams pass through all of the same scenes. Its just that the trams stop at different places for the scene to play out. One of the trams passes through the "gangster" scene, and your "host" mentions gangster movies and then the tram moves on to an "old west" town, your tram pauses and a gunfight breaks out and the "bandit" takes over the tram. In the other scenario, your tram pauses in the gangster area (I think there is a garage, and warehouse looking buildings), there is a shootout and one of the gangsters takes over the tram (I think you pass through the old west town after that). I think both trams stop at the egyptian looking scene to "steal" the jewel (and your "host" triumphs).

I don't ever remember doing the cowboy scene. Next time I'm gonna ask:earsboy:

whozit has it right. We pasted thru the gangster scene and stopped at the cowboy scene, the OZ scene we were together I think.

Are you talking about the girls all standing in a circle, one on top of the other....I think they call it Buzbee Burkley movies or something like that? They're the ones right across from Gene Kelly in Singing in the Rain if I remember correctly. I didn't realize that they weren't turning anymore. I'll have to check that out in June.

We've seen both the cowboy scene and the gangster scene, but mostly when we go on this ride, it's the gangster scene we see. We always seem to get stuck in the 2nd tram way in the back. You also don't see the alien creature coming down when you're in the back. By the time you get up there, it's already gone back up. But I think you can see the one on the side better.

The last time we were there in December and the girl giving us the tour through the movies was SOOOO obnoxious. She over dramatizing everything soooo bad that is was distracting and not believable at all. A lot of the people on the ride were talking about it because you couldn't even enjoy yourselves. (When we were getting off the ride one couple though said how much they enjoyed her. . . I was thinking "Oh my goodness! Were we on the same ride?"--I only heard that from one couple though!!!!!):crazy2:
