Great Movie Ride Closing August 13

Yeah, i am not against the idea in principle, but the timing stinks. I guess I have ridden my last Great Movie Ride already.

Ellen's energy as well.

Hate to see GMR closed, but in the grand scheme of things not much from HS is closed that wasn't open a year or two ago.

Going to have to drive up and ride it one more time. Very disappointed to see the ride replacing it as of now

I'll be in the minority, I'm looking forward to the new rides! :)

Never cared for either of the rides that are closing, but sorry to those who do!

I don't mind it closing but the timing is poor. My kids can't/won't do rockin or tot, so there was already not many rides for us there. We go in sept.

I thought the GMR needed to go, but I wanted to give it another go before it went. I always found that the GMR had some of the most dedicated attraction CM. There was a lot of pride for some of them and it showed. But oh well. On to bigger and better things.

We go in October and we are only planning one morning/early afternoon at DHS the entire 10 days - just so we can get our whole group to go on Tower of Terror together!

Us too. GMR was one of the few rides at DHS that we did. It seems like a lot is closed this Aug/Sept. Maybe not, but it just feels that way. splash, ellen, mission space, gmr.

I saw this, very bummed. I heard the rumors that it might be closing for a Mickey themed attraction but I did not think it would be happening so fast.We arrive on August 19th, so a week too late. I have only done GMR once in the three times we have gone so I was looking forward to riding it again. Yesterday I read about Mission Space not reopening before we go, and now GMR. That is two days I had to adjust times on our plans. Oh well, the new attractions planned sound interesting and we won't be back for several years so when we do there will be loads of new things to see.

I'm a part of the crowd that actually really loved this ride. Truly encompassed Disney's HOLLYWOOD Studios with all those movies. Wizard of Oz is my favorite scene. I knew about the rumor before, but would have never even thought that it would be this quick. Looks like I'll be in DHS as soon as I can....

I usually plan a morning and then an evening there a different day. I do love the park at night, riding TOT, the neon signs and atmosphere. Missed the Star Wars fireworks show last year, so have to see that also.

I usually skip the GMR, might see it in August one last time.

We skipped DHS last year, it were going to go this year because I missed Toy Story and TOT, it now we may do an extra Epcot day and skip again.

DHS will be an evening park for awhile to us. The new light show may be worth a look, plus the Star Wars fireworks. I personally would have waited to eliminate the movie ride until Toy Story land opens next summer, but Disney has their reasons.
