Great Ipod Touch apps for tweens?

It seems that a lot of kids are getting Ipod Touches this year (including my dd's 9 and 11). I was hoping maybe those more knowledgable can share what are some good free and/or budget apps for the kids. I know I read on here about text free and I'll be adding that to their touches. My dd also wants a good app that will allow her to edit videos and add cool effects. I remember reading an article about one that I believe was $4.99 but I threw out the article on accident Any recommendations for a good video (and photo if possible) app?

My DD's favorite aps are Doodlejump, Camwow, Instagram , Iheart radio, and Skype. She uses her touch for EVERYTHING! Her least favorite are the SAT prep apps I put on for her.

Mine love Pandora Radio, Netflix to watch movies via streaming (need to be member of Netflix) and Angry Birds.

ABC Player is great too. You can watch all the ABC Shows.

Sorry I am not familiar with any video editing ones.

I'm not a tween or anything near it. But let them have at the free versions
and then buy into what they want.
