I remember reading a thread posted on this board a couple of weeks ago asking for a graduation gift idea. Well, I just read about a great idea and I decided to post it in case anyone else is interested. I got the idea out of Lowe's Creative Ideas magazine, May/June issue.
"Give a high-school graduate a jump on the necessities.
College-bound students will be lost without a laundry basket. Fill one to the brim with organizational accessories to help keep the dorm room in order. Ours includes small appliances such as a coffeemaker and telephone, over-the-door storage rack, dry erase board, tie and belt rack, clothespin bag, and clothespins."
When I lived in the dorm (MANY years ago) we weren't allowed to have a coffee maker in our room so I am not sure if that would be a suitable gift to put in the basket. Also, I wouldn't have used a clothespin bag and pins. However, the telephone and other things are great ideas!!! Also, a small garbage can, school year calendar, book crate, etc. would make great items to put in the laundry basket.
I just thought this was a fantastic gift idea for the college-bound high school graduate so I wanted to pass it on!
