you know i hate garage sailing. I'll thrift store shop but i have a list of items needed and i dont deviate. My husband however loves it. I swear it's his favorite thing about this country. So every week i have to go through craigslist and the local paper and jot down what all is being sold. My husband then goes through the list and checks what he likes. I prepare a route and he and dd head out.
This past saturday they brought home a new never opened cinderella III dvd, sorted other dvds, a giant ceramic fruit bowl, 2 pair of sketchers, a kitchen playset, and a stainless steel kitchen bowl.
Sometimes he will bring home boxes of stuff and ship it to his family in brazil.

We only had about an hour to y/s this weekend since it was Wingfest at the farmers market (dh had been drooling over) then a pool party. I got a garden spreader that had price tag & looked new for $5, ds some reebok sneakers in exc condition for $3, a mickey mouse alarm clock for $3 (lady's son had outgrew mickey, couldn't keep a straight face to say it was for me, haha), and dd 2 Little House on the Prarie books and two others. Two weekends ago I hit a goldmine though- teen girls hollister, abecrombie, old navy- all .25 each. I was filling my arms up so fast if I though dd had a chance of fitting them then....then I got a whole box of Beverly Cleary books (think 21?) plus some others for .25 then he discounted that and a nice Eastsport backpack for $2. I loves me some yard sales!

My dds and I stopped at a thrift store yesterday for an hour and I got a new with tags 2 pc cocktail dress for our upcoming cruise for $16!! It fits perfectly and is from Macy's. We're excited to go back next Tuesday for half price day!! :)

I found DS a MINT condition The North Face Windwall jacket for $10!! I am ecstatic, as a TNF jacket for him was on my yard sale wish list. It is from 2008, but fits him great, with a bit of room to grow. I refuse to pay the store price on those crazy jackets, no matter how in style they are.

I also found a Perfect Brownie pan for $3, a Wilton cupcake holder for $1, and a cupcake book for $1 (still in the shrinkwrap).

We are going to be doing a lot of fundraising this year to get our son to NY/DC next summer, and I am going to be doing a lot of baking. I am thrilled with my finds today!!

I got a couple of sweaters at TS, DD's went in just in case there were any Build A Bears. We don't usually find them, but last night there were 3. They picked the two better ones- one for $.69 and one for $1.19. One was even dressed in the overalls.

DD and i frequently visit our local Salvation Army especially on half price day! First place we hit is the purses. She grabbed a black leather purse off the rack and told me i should get it because it was a good one. So for $6.99 i thought it was worth it. It was nice and heavy. I took it to work and my boss said you need to look that up on line. It is a Marc Jacobs. I can't find that particular purse but i found a thread that tells you how you can spot a fake and i am pretty sure its not. :cool1:

I have tons of Disney shirts from there. I wear them all the time. They keep me in a Disney mood! :tink:

I was on the selling end this weekend and did great. I made $257 from 6 craigslist postings since Friday!:cool1: First time I've ever done it. That'll cover our last minute reservation at Akershus as well as finish up the gas money for our trip next month. All from stuff that had literally been gathering dust (and taking up space) for the last 3+ years!

Sink/counter for my bathroom. (Still had that blue stuff protecting the drain). $5. For 20 years I've disliked the one we had. Ten years ago DD burned a spot on it and since then I've hated it, but it never made it to the top of our "to buy" list.

DH has already installed the new one. :goodvibes

We went to a local children's consignment shop's "fill a bag" sale for $15. I filled one bag and my oldest dd filled another. Later we went back and filled one more. So we spent $45 but we got $750 worth of clothes for my children - and I'd say 90% was Justice, Gap, Limited Too or Abercrombie & Fitch and all of it in excellent condition. My kids will be set for next summer for next to nothing and we got several items for a friend's dd and my cousin's kids as well as a bunch of new "doll" clothes for dd7 (newborn size fits the Bitty Baby).
