I'm looking for suggestions for wii games that we can enjoy playing as a family with our DD8. We have Mario Party and Mariokart, and she loves them. She also enjoys playing wiifit, DDR and Guitar Hero with us. I'm looking for something new and different, and my problem is that it's really hard to tell what the games are going to be like just by looking at the back of the case in the store. We've bought some that turned out to be kind of lame.:confused3 Other than what I've listed above, are there any games your family loves to play together?

Michael Jackson Wii! Oh MY GOSH!!! SO FUN!!:lmao:

New Super Mario Bros. Wii. It's a side scrolling platformer, very much like the old Super Mario games. I know you said different but even though it's Mario, it is very different than MarioKart and Mario Party. It can be challenging in some spots, but everyone I know who has tried it loves it and it got great reviews. Up to four people can play at a time. One great thing about it is that it can be easier or harder depending on how much of a completionist you are. If you want to try to collect everything, it can be very difficult but you can also just try to get through each level without worrying about all the coins and that is easier. Also, players have the option of sealing themselves in bubbles and drifting along behind other people. If some players are better than the others and can get through a level, the others can just turn into bubbles and follow along for the ride until they feel safe having someone pop their bubble. (But be prepared for lots of shouts of things like "Quit jumping on my head! Stop getting me killed! Stay away from my bubble!" There were points when we were all in tears from laughing so hard at the things players were doing to each other.:rotfl:)

We enjoy Boom Blox as a family (its my favorite because I can actually do it, unlike Mario Kart and the other Mario ones that I stink at!) My DS is almost 7. We also enjoy Carnival Games.

Active Life: Explorer (up to 4 players simultaneously, and you only need one Wii-mote) and FlingSmash (1-2 players, both need Motion-Plus) were both popular with DD7.5, and just as much fun for the adults.

Just an FYI--some of the Redbox's now have games. It has been awesome for us. For $2.00 (a one night rental) we can find out if a game is a dud.

We enjoyed Wheel of Fortune so much, we bought it at Walmart for $19.99.

Jeopardy was lame (too easy) and promptly returned.

My husband also tried some shooting games (I have no idea which ones) and he did not like them enough to want to buy them.

Our Redbox seems to have about 10 Wii games. They have other gaming systems too, and you can reserve them online.

another vote for Wii Resorts Sports - we're big fans.

PP good point about Redbox - I need to check our local one it would be fun to try out new games!

We love Just Dance and Just Dance 2, we also really like the Toy Story Mania game, it's a lot of fun. :)

Just Dance
Just Dance 2
MArio Kart
New Mario Bros.
Super Mario Galaxy 1 and 2
Smooth Moves
Sports Resort
Band Hero

My DD-9 just looked through our games these are her favorite.

Another vote for Toy Story Mania, Disney's Think Fast, and we just started playing the Hasbro Family Game Night series (there are 3 of them). DH and DS5 have become hooked on Life on the Hasbro Game.

Thanks for the ideas! This is very helpful.

I went out today and ended up getting some deluxe version of Namco Museum because it has a bunch of games I know DH likes, like Pacman and Dig Dug. I want to get one more.

How different is Just Dance from Dance Dance Revolution?

Love the idea of trying out the games before buying! Thanks for that heads up on that as well!!!

Another vote for Boom Blox. Nearly threw my elbow out the first month we had that one. :rotfl:

Will Sports Resort
Toy Story Mania
Super Mario Brothers
Super Hero Squad
The kids and DH just got Punch Out. DS7 and DH enjoy it.
