I had used American Airlines points to book a LM room and it specifically said king bed. This was very important because we wanted our 23 month old to sleep between us being it is a different environment for her. At home she sleeps in her crib but when we are away she has gotten used to sleeping with us and it is a comfort to her. I have read on the board that king rooms are only a request but I was hoping since it said so specifically on the printout "king room", I would be ok. Well, checking in there were no kings available. Got the "only a request" response from the cast person so I asked nicely if a supervisor was available to see if they could do anything and we would be fine with either a king or queen just so we can all fit. The supervisor came out and said would you prefer lion king or cars room. Love great customer service.

Wow! That's a very nice upgrade! Congrats!

Awesome! Congrats on the upgrade. I love reading about people getting unexpected upgrades.

I'm glad it worked out for you. As a reminder to others, some external travel agents will promise things, or put in writing on a confirmation things that cannot be guaranteed. For example, when I worked at the Polynesian, I had a guest with a confirmation from their TA that guaranteed them a room in the Great Ceremonial House. I had to explain that there are NO guest rooms in that building (not even that they were all full, they simply didn't exist). And they kept arguing that their TA had guaranteed it.
