This is a good deal but I don't like that you have to refer a friend to get any info on the rebate.

I thought the same thing, but you can "refer yourself." I just put in my name and email for both portions and it worked.

I got it on BF from the same place for $24.99 (had to order a lip balm for the free shipping on $25) Then I referred myself but it said the purchase has to occur after the rebate form was printed. I sent it in anyway.

The Sonicare Essence is the "lower" priced unit. That is not a $90 toothbrush,usual price is anywhere from $29-35. Its not a bad brush but I like the sonicare elite better. I've used both, but I think the elite works better.
