Sounds like a great deal, Alex. I did go and sign up, but I didn't see anything that stated I was to receive 24 free prints. Is there something special I have to do besides sign up?

I downloaded their free software that let's you upload the pictures and when I went to use it it said that the first order was free, even the shipping!

Thank you, thank you, thank you, Alex!

Shutterfly (www.shutterfly.com ) also has a promotion if you sign up you get 15 free prints. You do have to pay for shipping & handling though. (a couple of bucks) Great quality!

Ok, my question is how much will photo prints be normally from them? A box of 60 sheets of 4x6 photo paper is $20. I can usually get about 3 times that out of a printer cartridge soo, add about $10 for ink, that's .50¢ a print.

Shutterfly is .29 a print with discounts all the time on that. I think the site is running a 20% off promo now.

Photoworks is .19 a print now, if memory serves me.

I usually go to a local camera shop where they charge .39 a print. Occasionally they run a special where you can get a 2nd print for half price. They usually turn the photos around in under 3 hours. Even though it's a bit more expensive than the online services, the convenience and personal attention is worth it to me.

Thanks to you both for the info. I'll check it out.

MarKRG....The paper and color you are using with your printer are not stable and will eventually breakdown and fade. For anything I want to keep or put in an album, I use shutterfly or my local photo store where they use archive quality paper and ink.

thanks for the link Alex...I do have some stuff I want prints of.

I normally use shutterfly or ofoto, but I think I'll give them a try. Thanks.

You might want to try your local Sams or WalMart.

They are in the process of installing the digital Fuji machines across the US. Every store should be upgraded by Thanksgiving 2003.

At our Sams (not our walmart yet) you can get 4x6 prints for .20 in an hour. 5x7 are .69 and 8x10 are 1.69. All are available in one hour. Each store has some leeway in setting prices. Some are as high as .29 for the 4x6 prints.

That works out to to just $4.80 for 24 prints.

Their machine has a reader for compactflash, smartmedia, memory stick, secure digital, mmc, cd-rom, floppy, and a scanner.

At least at our Sam's the quality has been great. It is incredible to take a picture drive the mile to Sams and have a print in my hand 40 minutes after taking the picture.

Fuji printers. Hmmm. I wonder if they will be able to read Fuji xD memory???
