Great customer service from Hotel Royal Plaza!

Hello all,

I know I've posted positively about the Royal Plaza previously, but just wanted to let you all know about my most recent positive experience.

We stayed at the Royal Plaza in December and had a nice time. After we got back, we got a coupon via e-mail for $10 off the room rate per night. We were tentatively planning to return to the World in May and were planning to investigate the rate we might be able to get with our coupon during that time. But then Travelzoo started running a special on the Tower rooms for travel before March 31.... Looking at our schedule, we decided we could swing this time off... So we called to book the rate, but were told that we could not use our coupon with this rate. Now the coupon listed some restrictions, but did NOT say that we would be unable to use it with a discounted rate. I spoke with a reservations agent and then to the weekend desk manager who both told me the coupon could not be used. They were very nice but I really thought that they were wrong about the coupon. Anyway, rather than argue with me, they just said that they'd have the hotel manager call me Monday. I had pretty much written off the plan to go in March, since I wasn't sure I'd hear back from the manager (although, I had e-mailed him previously with a rate question and got a very prompt reply) and the special was supposed to be booked by yesterday.

But to my pleasure, I heard from the hotel manager by 10:30 Monday am. He said that we could certainly use the coupon and even booked us the room at the discounted rate right then. It is so nice to have a situtation like this handled so professionally-- these days it seems like if you are told a "manager will call you back," you're wise to not hold your breath too long! So nice to have some really good customer service for a change. The rate of course makes me happy, but really what impresses me is the fact that I had a question, was directed to the appropriate person, who then called me when I was told he would, and the whole issue was resolved with minimal inconvience to me. Kudos to the Royal Plaza!

So we will have our third trip to the World since September! We have stayed at the Royal Plaza twice before, and it is quite nice. If anyone has any questions, I would be happy to answer them.

Great to hear some hotels still have great coustmer service and a Manager who cares!!!!
