I am looking for some recommendations for lunch (I especially need some for CA). We are hoping to do something quick. We don't really care for fish, but besides that we're pretty open. TIA!

We like Taste Pilot's Grill next to Soarin Over California.

Yes, Taste pilot's definitely. Also try Award Wieners in Hollywood Pics Backlot.

At DL we like Redd Rocket's Pizza Port(TL) and Rancho del Zocalo(FL).

Any other suggestions? We think for lunch in DL we might do Riverbelle Terrace, but the next day we are thinking something in CA, or DTD if there is a must-do...

I personally love the Hungry Bear in Critter Country. It's not that the food is wonderful. It's just that I really enjoy sitting on the deck by the Rivers of America. I prefer the lower deck next to the water. It is a nice place to sit and rest.

Love White Water Snacks in GCH - anybody can get there - use the entrance by Grizzly, and it is to the left. It is not an obvious building, so it has never been busy. Great food at good (for disney) prices - huge portions.

I would opt to leave DCA and have lunch at Whitewater Snacks. It is very close to the special GCH park entrance so it's not far out of the way or anything and the food is much better than anything offered in the park.

I'm such a dork. I gave a Disneyland restaurant. You know we have never eaten in DCA. I think maybe this next trip we are going to amend that. I want to try Award Weiners myself.

At DCA we love Taste Pilots Grill, they have a really nice condiments bar. We also love Award Weiners and take our food over to the shaded table area at the end of the Hollywood Blvd., near the 101 Dalmations trailer to eat it. Another area we love is the Pacific Wharf. There are a couple of restaurants back there with a shared seating area. I love the bakery for its sandwiches and salads, while dh can get his Mexican food with a Margarita! This is really lovely at night when the lights of Paradise Pier make a nice setting to enjoy.

At Disneyland I love The Hungry Bear, just as kaoden 39 suggested, its lovely, cool and quiet down there. We also enjoy Ranch de Zoccalo in Frontierland for Mexican, Redd Rockets for pasta, pizza and salad and my personal favorite is the Plaza Inn. They have huge portions, my family can get by quite easily on two meals with two side salads. I love their fried chicken and chicken alfredo pasta. I also recommend the Carnation Cafe. This is full service but other than the tip you won't pay more for your meal than a counter service place. Oh and Riverbelle Terrace is very good.

I second the Pacific Wharf area...
The Mexican food at Cocina Cucamonga (?) is great (for Disney parks), and fairly healthy! There are several other options right there also. Last trip to DL, I lost 4 pounds!
We also like the Rancho del Zocalo, next to Big Thunder Mountain in DL. Their meals are definitely big enough to share!

Is our favorite CS. Pizza was good, they also had salad, pasta etc. We always try to eat here and ds and I love their pepperoni pizza. My sister and dh love the Planetary Pizza Salad - Chopped greens, sliced pepperoni, fire roasted tomatoes, red onions, sliced black olives, feta and gorgonzola cheeses, and vinaigrette dressing.

I did not like the huge wait we had at River Belle Terrace, and the food was ok, nothing special. The service just seemed illogical and took way too much time.

We had an okay lunch at French Market restaurant, though my ds did not get enough food with child meal.

We had horrible burgers at Stage Door Cafe in Frontierland, but I think they have changed their menu since we ate there last.

Hope this helps some.

In DCA we love to have soup in a bread bowl at the Pacific Wharf Cafe. We also like Taste Pilot's and Award Weiners!

I like the food at White Water Snacks at the GCH. My bf and I like to eat there. It's affordable and the portions are filling. :thumbsup2

Have to 100% agree with this!

My vote in CA would be for Pacific Wharf. The place attached to the sourdough bakery is wonderful with salads, soup, & such. Not much for kids - BUT we found that after taking the tortilla "tour" - they ate up the kids meals at the counter service place there. Nice thing is - you don't have to run all over the park to please everyone, and there is lots of nice seating - in the shade, too.

Personally - I would AVOID anything in the Paradise Pier section. Pizza Omm Mow Mow, McDonald's, etc. Gets very crowded, and the food is so-so.

Definitely, the soup in a bread bowl. If we eat at DCA, that's where we eat!

Although, I have gotten a burrito at the Mexican place and that was good, too, but not as good as the sourdough bread bowl with corn chowder in it! YUM!

I should add that we enjoy eating at the CS place in Fantasyland at DL - they have a deal where you get a mini pizza and a salad for a reasonable price, and the pizza is always good!

But then, I usually go with a vegetarian, so our options are more limited. Especially to find good, non-veggie burger options.
