Great Ceremonial House welcomes PVB owners' thread

Can't wait to see the pictures and reports starting on April 1.

Thanks, with all due respect, been a little hesitant to come out of the shadows with all the negative posts about who would buy the Poly, but very excited anyway to add this to our AKV-BLT portfolio. Lots of emotional connection to the Poly. Can't wait to book/stay.

We also own at BLT. I can remember when BLT was the new resort and there was a lot of negativity about it. At the time, I recall a few people posting that this happen to each new resort. Criticism was so bad that DVD even changed the studios to move one sink from the galley area. To the bathroom.

Aulani also went through a period where people said it was a terrible place to build. Now, people love it.

When VGF went on sale, there were many negative posts about the price and point charts. as people stayed there, opinions changed.

With PVB being the new resort, it is the one often criticized. Once all the construction completes, we will have a better idea of the resort. The East pool has not even begun construction. Looking at 2016 before it is scheduled to be completed.

In the end, maybe it will be popular or maybe it will not be. Regardless, we are happy to own here and look forward to many years staying at PVB.

So how long it the wait going to be on the phone on Wednesday? We currently have a 10 night reservation for VGF in October but want to switch the last four nights to the Poly. I probably won't be able to sleep in Tuesday night I'll be so excited!

I can't remember which post I saw it on, but someone was estimating an hour wait based on when a prior resort opened for members only (I think it was VGF). That said, from what I remember about 2013 a lot more posters seemed to have actually bought VGF then are talking about it here, so maybe it'll be a breeze! Fingers crossed. Already booked a few hours off of work just in case.

VGF booking started about two months after sales began. Large number of VGF deeds showed up on the Orange Coubty web site during June 2013, same month as the booking opening.

PVB will have about 1 month of buying before bookings begin. If points sold for PVB matched VGF during the first month, it still means PVB will be easier to book Feb 11 than VGF was in June 2013.

Well alright! We are officially booked into a bungalow 9/6-9/9. Had absolutely no waiting time on the phone. Taking a few relatives with us for a family celebration. Doing 3 nights at BLT then moving to Poly. CANNOT WAIT!! :thumbsup2

Only weirdness I've noticed is the Upcoming Vacation page says this:

Resorts Grouping
Bungalow

While the BLT ressie says this:

Bay Lake Tower at Disney's Contemporary Resort
2 Bedroom Villa - Lake View

And when you click in on the travel plan details for Poly, it says:
Resorts Grouping
{RoomType 'MW' missing}
September 6, 2015 - September 9, 2015
Total Vacation / Reservation Points Used 345

Points count is right, I'm guessing it's just that they haven't updated the system yet?:confused3 They most definitely took my points, that's for sure.
In the meantime, looking forward to trip reports from you who get to go earlier. popcorn::

Anyone able to confirm/deny connecting studios as a booking group?

Congratulations to everyone who booked.

A couple people confirmed there is no connecting booking category. One person booked one standard room. By the time they tried for the second, the other standard was gone. They had to book two lake view after that.
IMHO, this is exactly why the connecting must be made a Booking category and not a request.

Booked in a Bungalow as well! We are staying from Oct 7th- 11th to celebrate my Grandmothers 90th BDay and my oldest sons 18th BDay! Feel like I am bursting with pixie dust!

I'm so jealous! I wish we could book ASAP! Debating if booking one night in a bungalow at the end of our trip is worth it to us...

Congratulations. Hope your family has a great time. Make sure to let member services know about both celebrations so the resort is aware.

the only DVC resort that was not hated was OKW - then it was the only DVC resort and was called DVC.

when BWV was announced you should have read the posts - since I brought there - wanted to be able to walk to Epcot and Studios - I have never regretted that purchase. also brought at BLT - while the comments about the studio are valid - still love it too - being able to walk to the MK is wonderfully.... really love them both.

op
know what you mean about the Polyn - really though would be able to afford it - but can't. Retired and now finally buying a house in Florida. It is going to be years before I can buy anything else - except WDW tickets...
