I just posted this in a different section, but would probably make more sense and be most helpful here. Finally went into the $0.99 cent store that's next to Target a few blocks from Disneyland, and it's GREAT!

Located at:

12100 Harbor Blvd Garden Grove, CA 92840

Target is great when traveling too so both stores are a plus. I believe the store is called "Viva Bargain Center". It's HUGE and they have a ton of stuff, even have jeans for $0.99 cents :hippie:. Unlike other dollar stores just about everything really is $0.99, very little was over a dollar and the items that were not a buck were clearly marked so no surprises at the cash register :scared1:.

THEY HAVE RAIN PONCHOS! That's the reason why we stopped by and found them for $0.99 cents, about 4 different colors too so you not stuck wearing yellow . Everything from baby goods, shampoo etc., electronics, car stuff, toys, kitchen goods, snacks, brand name and generic items. Definitely try this store out first before going into Target 'cause you never know what you'll find!

Thanks so much for posting this - what great information! :worship: I'm making note of this so we can hopefully stop by during our trip in August.

Did you notice any Disney-themed items? I'm wondering if this might be a good place to pick up a few inexpensive souvenirs! :)

is it a Dollar Tree or a 99c only? I really like 99c only I think it's the best of the 2

They had the usual Disney knick-knack that can be found in any store like notepads and school supplies, so not a good source for inexpensive souvenirs. For that you should try the Disney Character Warehouse store, if you're driving and have time - not terribly far from Disneyland, maybe about 10 to 15 minutes. We also stopped by there, had a lot of Pirates stuff in stock. If you've never been to it, or heard of it, I'm sure there's several posts on here regarding it but it's basically a Disney Park merchandise outlet store. They end up with all the unsuccessful or overstock left overs, but sometimes the stuff is not bad :thumbsup2. I think their prices are okay, some of the things are still a little pricey but not compared to park prices. I would say the discounts range from 30% to 90% off. Search for more threads for additional information and opinions. The address is:

Disney's Character Warehouse Outlet Store
243 Orangefair Mall, Fullerton, CA 92832

(the name appeared on our TomTom gps navigator :yay:)

And what's great about this location is that it's surrounded by other big name businesses like Costco, Marshalls, and even another Target store. Other businesses include supermarkets, shoe stores, gas stations, it's basically a shopping center neighborhood.

For Disney souvenirs there's also a few convenient store type shops scattered here and there in the Disney area with generic merchandise, but the Warehouse store merchandise is official.

Hi, no it's not a Dollar Tree store. I found my receipt and it's called "Viva Bargain Center". The street sign will read "Viva $0.99", but just search for the Target store. It's in the same shopping center and the $0.99 store is attached to Target and will be on the right hand side. You can park and walk to both locations, their entrances are only a few feet from one another. It really is one of the best discount stores I've visited, and just about everything really was $0.99 cents, plenty of touristy looking people shopping there.

Here are two pictures I found from an online review, the place really was clean and well organized but the store photo shows boxes on the floor.

That sounds really good! I might try and visit in October! :)

Oh we love this store we go several times when we go. They seem to get new stuff in all the time. They did have a lot of different disney items when we went more like stuff to keep kids happy for cheap.

Thank you so much for the info about the Character Warehouse Outlet store!:goodvibes I think we'll have some free time the first day we arrive so we'll probably check both stores out then.:thumbsup2

Thanks again for all of the help!

We just went to Disneyland last week, and a stop at our new favorite $0.99 cent store was the last thing we did before heading back to San Francisco. We took some first timers and they loved it! My 16 year old cousin is obsessed with Hanna Montana, while at Disneyland & CA adventure she kept saying how she wanted to check the shops for Hanna goods - of course we never did because we were on a tight ride & show schedule. She loved the $0.99 cent store because she was able to find a ton of Hanna Montana stuff, and for a lot less!

This is wonderful!!!!!!! I was heading to that target anyways, now I have more reason to!! That store looks huge.

since we do not have a target in my town, I was wondering if target has milk or orange juice?

Yes they have cold milk & juice, just like the other poster said. If you've never been inside a Target, it's very similar to Wal-mart if you have a Wal-mart in your town. Target is a great all-in-one store and the prices are very reasonable. And the dollar store has a little bit of everything, both generic and brand name, so having the two side by side really helps. Plus it's not terribly far from Disneyland - but definitely not within walking distance.

$0.99 store closes at 9:00 pm, I think Target closes at 10pm but not sure.
