Gratuity for 8 or 6?

When I called the dining reservations desk tonite to change some of my ADRs the CM kept saying "party of 6 or more automatic gratuity of 18%" I thought it was automatic for parties of 8 or more. Have they recently changed this policy or was the CM mistaken or am I?

I can tell you that it's been parties of 6 or more (OR Disney Dining Experience card holders) since January 1st of 2008. I believe it was parties of 8 or more prior to that.
