Graphic Magic Bands - Link it Later Question

Hi all,
I've tried searching the web but still a bit confused on the link it later option with magic bands. If I purchase one of the graphic magic bands (frozen, toy story, disney princess etc) from the online disney store, can I use it for purchases, FP+, and room key for my upcoming November trip? Just curious if anyone has done this and had success with it recently. Thanks for the help!

Yes. Upon receipt of your magic band you can activate on MDE and link it.

Yes you can connect any MB later and use it just like any other MB's.

However using as a room key and charging privileges are only for on site stays.

You can link it to the MDE site for your tickets. Once you get to your resort you will have to go to the lobby and have them link your room to use it as a room key. We bought some "themed" MB's on our last trip and they wouldn't work opening our doors at the resort. Went to the lobby and they set them up for our room and purchases. Took about 3 minutes for them to get everything situated for us. We did carry our original (solid colored) MB's just in case something didn't work as everything was still linked to those MB's and they worked fine. We now have all of the colors of the MB's.

Thanks for the information, I did not know that. My DDs both bought the graphic MBs on our last trip and I linked them to my MDE account so they can use them for our trip next week (they are showing up as active BTW). I would of never of thought about going to the lobby and having them connect the bands so they can use them for charging and as a room key. I learn something new every day on these boards .
