We are bringing my grandson to celebrate his 1st birthday at Disneyworld! What are the must do things for a 1 year old? Thanks!

If he likes characters maybe make a reservation for chef Mickey or cape May cafe....make sure to try 180 days out, or keep trying daily if they don't have a reservation. All of Magic kingdom will enthrall him I am sure! I know Dumbo is great, we love playing in the playplace while waiting for the actual ride. Nice place to cool off too and still have a place to play. If he likes animals don't miss either Maharajah jungle trek or Gorilla falls ezpeditiex trail in Animal kingdom park....and the Safari ride is pretty fun too! Mostly when my DS was small he just liked to walk and look around. They have a couple of fountain areas for kids to play in Epcot, as well as a small water feature in fantasyland near barnstormer that he may enjoy. We also love the seas with Nemo in Epcot because after the ride the aquarium, while small is pretty fun to look around!
This is so exciting, you will be with your grandson at Disney on his first birthday :) Take lots of pictures, get photopass, or ask the photographers to snap pics of you altogether with your phone/ camera. Have asuper magical trip

We took our son for his first birthday. So obviously they don't "get a lot out of it". They just kind of go with the flow. Slow moving omnimover type rides with lots of bright colors and things to look at are big hits. You should plan to ride Little Mermaid a lot. My son loved it.

The other thing is characters. So at the beginning of the week he was scared of them. But we kept at it and my one clear memory of the trip is on the last night at the Character Spot in Epcot and he was in his pajamas because it was late. Anyway we're in line and he's reaching towards the characters and making whiney noises because he wanted to meet them. So be prepared for the 1 year old to need. some time to get used to the characters.

Also they love balloons so buy a balloon from the vendor on Main Street.

What about a First Haircut at Magic Kingdom?

**Just a suggestion** Take a BIG Birthday card with you and have the characters sign it for the little guy. It makes a great keepsake , souvenir.

Place a note from Mickey Mouse on his pillow with a small gift.
I made a Mickey Birthday Note for you and posted it in my photobucket

Have a great time planning!!
Being a Nana is one of my greatest joys.
