I started saving money for a Disney trip when my first grandson was born. Another came along 3 years later, so I upped the savings account and we were able to go for the first time when they were 5 and 3. Even at that young age, we had a fabulous time. I can't even tell you how much fun we had. When we were leaving, they asked when we would be back again. I said I would start saving money again and we would be back in about 5 years; then gave myself a slap in the face and thought "what am I thinking? life's too short". I immediately came back and purchased DVC and we have been going every 2 years on spring break.
My daughter's not much of a thrill rider, so I'm the designated thrill ride companion now that they are older. My fondest memory is the day Wade (the older) and I managed to sneak out of the house without mom & Tyler (who was not feeling well); got to MK first thing, and consecutively rode BTMRR and SM not once but 4 times in a row. Since that time, I have learned to enjoy a more grown-up version of Disney with my husband and friends. But my greatest joy is still taking those boys. My only fear is that they will get to be teenagers and think they are too "cool" for Disney.
