Grandpa Mohawk Chronicles back online (Spring Edition)

Words don't really help, but my thoughts & prayers are with you and GM

hey there. So sorry to hear of your loss. The heartache is there, and you can try to be rational about it, and it does make it easier... but only for the moment.
My dog is here cuddled next to me on the couch, I think I'll take him out for a walk to his Grandparents (I'm not "Mom" to the dog, but my folks are his Grandparents!)

Take care.:grouphug:

So sorry to hear about Peppermint. :sad1: I live alone and so my dog Ziggy is my true companion. Here is a big hug for you

Thanks everyone for the kind thoughts. They're helping a lot at the moment.

Post-trip day is usually a downer for me. Time to catch up on all the things I let go and deal with a few problems. Today is a bit rougher than usual. The house is extremely quiet without "ol' Pep" and I'm stuck in it. The van needs service to get my driving controls working again and the dealer's all booked until next week. And it's a balmy 69 degrees outside. I sure wish I could just take a stroll over to DTD to ride that balloon again.

GM and I decided we'll adopt a new kitten come fall when we settle in for the season. For now we're just starting our travel season and won't be home long enough to dedicate for a little one. Besides, the time allows us to mourn one pet before jumping right back in to another.

This house used to be full of pets and people. But the dogs grew old, the siblings all moved away and had busy households of their own, and the rest of us just slowly grew older. I think this is why GM & I like to travel so much now. A quiet house can be a very empty one too.

I'm sorry to hear about Peppermint. I have had to make that very difficult decision twice now so I understand what you are going through. My thoughts are with you and GM.

It is so hard to say goodbye to loved pets. We too have had to make the decision a few times, and our golden retriever is now close to 11, and just sleeps most of the day. I'm glad you're thinking of a kitten for the fall.

Awwww Brogan so sorry to hear about Peppermint :sad1:
We send :grouphug: from all of us to you and G-Mohawk.

Although not exactly same as having cat or dog, in interim some bird feeders outside your home can make a wonderful variety of feathered friends come by to visit each day ::yes::

Glad you're home safe & enjoyed your latest TR.
Peace
~ Laura, Joe & kids
