Ha ha ha! Unfortunately we are 8 hours away, but I like to think so. Thank you for appreciating how funny I amThat's awesome news, you must be a blast to have as a grandma.
You already know how much I love you. #bffonthedisOne of my favorite quotes: “Having a grandmother is like having an army.”

One of my fondest memories of Fatherhood is picking up my sleeping child and carrying them into the house. They would basically sink into any bump or crevice on my body and it almost felt like I could let go and they wouldn't move at all. Like Velcro. Don't worry, I never tried to test that out, I just wondered.Congratulations there’s nothing like baby cuddles![]()
They are so snuggly and it’s so neat how you can feel when they really fall into a deep sleep and they turn into dead weight. One of my fondest memories of Fatherhood is picking up my sleeping child and carrying them into the house. I remember my dad saying once that he was the last to carry our family name, and I told him I would probably be the last (which has turned out to be true). I really don’t understand why that is even a thing anymore. Haven’t we moved beyond thinking females are second best? There are so many other things to think about, like simply having a healthy child.Well hopefully SIL isn't snarky this time if she's a girl. She only has one grandchild (a girl) and won't have more. When our son found out after years of trying and in vitro that she was a girl, SIL was disappointed (and told me so) the baby wasn't a boy for the family name.
All of this! But (no offense to those who are like this) she's old school backwoods country in every way. I have no clue how DH turned out how he did unless it was traveling the world, experiencing other cultures LOL.I remember my dad saying once that he was the last to carry our family name, and I told him I would probably be the last (which has turned out to be true). In the delivery room 50 years ago next month, right after the birth of our first child, my wife asked the doctor, who was slightly busy, if the baby was a boy or girl. When he responded girl, my wife turned her head toward me and said, "I'm sorry, I know you wanted a boy". I just shrugged and went over to the Doctor and punched him for looking at my daughters naked under carriage. All of this! We just pray for an easy, healthy pregnancy and healthy girl or boy!
