Thank you all for your encouragement!!!! This is really fun although time consuming and alas the real world calls me. I must go back to work tomarrow!!! I am working on the next installment and will try to finish it tonight or after work tomarrow!!! There are 5 more days to go but I do promise I will finish all of them!!!

Magic Kingdom More Rain, Magic and Peter Pan

We are up early for EMH at 8 am. When we get our wakeup call we tell the girls that Mickey needs our help on a special mission and we have to be at City Hall by 10am.

We grab Danish, coffee and milk on the way to the monorail and eat on the run and while waiting for the park to open. The plan was to go to Adventureland and we quickly find out it does not open early, so we head for Tommarowland. Here is a picture of John taking a picture.

We ride Astrorbitor for the girls. I ride with Cassie and Marci rides with Tori. The girls really enjoy this one also!!!! It was a really pretty view of the Magic Kingdom.

We have time to ride Buzz one more time and take a few pictures here.

It is 9am and we have time to make it to Adventureland and ride the Jungle Cruise and see the Tiki Birds and a spin on the Magic Carpets!

Now we have done all of these rides and no rain, so far. Lv keeps saying “keep the ponchos handy” and I am praying that the rain holds off for our Family Magic Tour!!!!

We make our way to Guest Services at the front of the park and check in for the tour. The girls have no idea what will happen here!!! We each get Peter Pan name tags and bottles of water and wait for our Tour Guide!!!!

FAMILY MAGIC TOUR

What a great name for this tour!!!! It is magical in every sense of the word!!! If you do not want to know what happens on this tour, please do not read any further!!!

We are joined by 3 other families with kids ranging in age from 12 to 4. A total of 6 children and Cassie and Tori are the youngest. A very nice group of people and we all watch out for each so we don’t get separated!!

Claudia, our tour guide, shows up and tells us that Peter Pan has stolen Captain Hooks favorite hook and if we don’t get it back, Captain Hook will turn the Magic Kingdom into Pirate Kingdom!!! Oh No!!! We have to watch out for pirates on our mission too.

Claudia tells us that she used to be able to use real Pixie Dust but on her last tour she used it on everyone and they flew all over the park and she got into a lot of trouble!!! She is now banned from Pixie Dust but can use Mickey Dust to help us on our mission!!

She gets out the Mickey Dust and gives everyone some to throw into the air to start our quest!!!

She gives the bag of Mickey Dust to Cassie for save keeping and hands me another bag that she will need later too!!

The first clue leads us to the Barber Shop and she tells us that no one can know what we are doing so she will make up stories to tell the people around us. At the Barber Shop she tells people not on the tour, that we are a glee club and we need to practice and she repeats the words to the first line of When You Wish Upon a Star and then tells us to sing with her. She starts singing at the top of her lungs and out of tune and we all try to sing but all I want to do is laugh!!!!! Then we leave in a big hurry!!!!

This is a 2 hour walking tour and we hit every land in the park so I will just hit the highlights for you.

This is Claudia and she is from Texas. If you ever get a chance to take this tour with her you will not be disappointed!!!

One thing that we have to do while on the tour is watch out for pirates or people we think are pirates. When Claudia spots one she has us make a hook with our index finger and yell ARGGGGG at them. We do this to a lot of CM’s in the park!!!! They all laugh at us!!!

In Tomarrowland we spot the Queen of Hearts and we have to sneak up on her and do the hook thing and run off. We are all laughing and having a great time.

Here is the map we had to follow!

At one point we are at a wishing well over to the side of the Castle. This is where the bag I am guarding is needed. Claudia has us all gather around the well and she takes the bag and gives each one of us a penny. She says “Does everyone have one?” and two ladies that walk up behind us say they didn’t get one, and Claudia makes up another story and they go on their way!!!

All along the way we are doing silly little things that the kids love. At one point we play follow the leader and each child gets to pick what we have to do. We skip, jump, shake our Booty and a few other things. Other guests in the park think we are nuts!!!!! It is really fun and everyone in our group takes part. At one point 2 of the dads have to link arms and skip across the bridge to Adventure Land and we are all laughing. What fun to be a kid again!!!!!

We end up at the big tree in Liberty Square and there are a lot of lanterns in this tree. We are told that Tinkerbell lives in one of them and we have to wake her up. We all start yelling Tinkerbell at the tree and the kids really love this. But alas we do not find her at home.

Then we are led into a private little garden that has been roped off to other guests. Out of the woods comes Wendy Darling and we find the hook on the back of her dress.

At this point we spot Peter Pan and then the unthinkable happens!!!!! It pours down rain!!!! I do mean Pours!!!! This is the worst drenching rain I have seen in ages!!!!
Peter takes the hook and hands it to Cassie and tells her to guard it until we are done. Then we all run for the side of Tinkerbells shop. There is an overhang there and we all crowd under it. We get out the cameras and get autographs and Claudia is keeping other people away while we are doing this.

Tori meets her idols!!!!! Soaking Wet!!!!

Peter Pan was wonderful!!!! He is really still a kid and is so good with everyone!!!

It is still pouring and Wendy says “Let’s all go ride It’s a Small World” she takes Cassie by one hand and Tori by the other and starts running to the ride!!! John stays back to put away his camera and to secure the stroller from the rain.

We lose sight of Wendy in the rain but know the kids are safe!!! Peter Pan takes his time in the rain and jumps in every big puddle he can find!!! He goes over to the Sword in the Stone by the Carosell and tries to pull it out and cannot do it He just shrugs his shoulders and then starts kicking water in the big puddles. Totally in character!!!!! I just wish I could have taken some pictures of him doing this in this down pour. We all finally make it to It’s a Small World and we go through the exit down to the landing to get on the ride. One last check to see if everyone makes it. John is missing!!!! Marci calls on her cell and he tells us to go ahead and take the ride without him. Everyone says we will wait but he is still struggling with the dumb stroller and we go without him.

Peter Pan asks Tori if she wants to sit on his lap for the ride!!!! She is in total awe of him!!!!

As we start the ride Peter is waving to kids waiting to get on the ride.

Cassie is sitting on the front row with Wendy and 2 other little girls. She looks sad in this next picture but she is really cold and assures me she is not sad!!!!

Tori is just a little doll with Peter Pan!!

Can you see the magic on her face!!!!!

At the end of the ride John meets us and each family is given a magical moment certificate signed by Peter Pan, Wendy Darling and Tinkerbell!!!

Tori is upset that Peter Pan has to leave but he takes his time and explains that he has to go meet some other kids now and he will be over by Pirates of the Caribbean if she wants to look for him there later.

John now wishes he had joined us!

We are all soaked to the skin and extremely happy that we took this tour!!!!

Even a tropical storm cannot stop the magic of Disney!!!! Thank You Claudia, Peter Pan and Wendy!!!!!!!!

We head for the monorail and decide to stop at the Contemporary for lunch and then head to our room for dry clothes and a nap. What a perfect morning!!!

Everyone takes a nap today!!! We even put in for a wakeup call so we don’t oversleep. We have dinner tonight at the Crystal Palace.

Marci gets up and heads down to the laundry to dry our shoes, she is not the only one there doing the same thing. We all get ready and head back to the Magic Kingdom. We get there early enough to get a fastpass for the Peter Pan ride of course!!!

We check in and enjoy the surroundings while we wait to be called to dinner.

We are seated and Tori will not leave the table to fill her plate because she sees Eeyore making his way to our end and we have to wait until she gets the autograph and picture!!

Then comes a hug from Pooh!!

Tigger gives Tori a bouncing lesson and then we take the picture….it was so cute!!!

Then comes Piglet and Tori gives Piglet a bouncing lesson and I missed it again!!!! I have got to be quicker with my camera…John missed it too!!

This is a very good buffet and we all enjoy our meal. I think the Characters spent less time with the kids here than any other place so far.

We walk around and ride a few things including Peter Pan and then get our spot for the Parade.

We take glow sticks to give out during the parade tonight.

Here we are getting them ready to hand out!! The girls love doing this!!!!

The parade starts and John gets pictures of all the floats and I will just share a few of them with you.

We all think these guys are a little freaky!!!

After the parade we make our way to main street to do some shopping on the way out. The girls get a little upset that we are inside when the fireworks start but I assure them that we will get to see them in front of the Castle on another night.

And it is a perfect ending to a magical day!!!!!!!

June 14th
MGM and Fantasmic

I have this little alarm clock in my head and never need an alarm clock so I am awake about 5am. I quietly make my coffee and go out on the balcony to wait for the wakeup call to wake everyone else up.

Here is what I saw!

These pictures are not the best but you get the idea of what the sunrise looks like.

It is a beautiful morning. I drink my coffee and watch the ducks down below. Each morning there are mallards, cranes, and rabbits out looking for a hand out. I am glad we are on the 3rd floor because the ducks go from door to door on the ground floor quacking and wanting food. This starts as soon as the sun comes up!!!

The wakeup call gets Marci up and the rest of the gang start waking up.

We do some picking up so mousekeeping won’t be too upset with us. As you can see we have been so tired, the room is a mess

We are out the door and at the park just before it opens.

John runs to get fastpass for Tower of Terror and then we walk over to Rockin Rollercoaster. The line is only a 10 min wait so Marci, John and Cassie decide to ride it now. Tori and I will wait for them. Just a second later I hear them calling to me, Cassie is not tall enough to ride so she joins me and Tori.

So what is a grandmother to do while we wait? I have no choice but to get them a sweet treat, it is my job to keep them happy, right? Itsakadoozies are a great way to sugar them up this morning!!!!!

John and Marci enjoy their ride and are glad that Cassie did not go with them. She has been riding some of the coasters at our local Six Flags but none of them are as intense as this one.

We go over to the Little Mermaid show and everyone really enjoys this!!!

Now it is time for Tower of Terror and we check to see if Cassie is tall enough and she is!!! Tori and I do some shopping while we wait.

We had seen a little girl, earlier in the week, with a duck whistle that makes a quacking noise and the girls both want one. Until now we had not seen them in the gift shops. Well Tori spots them and of course I have to get her and Cassie one. It is my job, right?

Tori really enjoys quacking at people and she is getting a lot of smiles.

John and Marci really enjoy the ride but Cassie tells me she will never ride it again!!! “Grandma my bottom kept coming up out of the seat and I won’t ride it again, even when I am 16” and she is quite adamant about it!!!!

Cassie is really happy with the duck whistle and lv is saying “you better get 3 more for the grandkids at home. Their parents will love you for it!!” There is a little bit of the devil in lv today!!!! There is nothing like the sound of 5 duck quackers going off at the same time and of course everyone is happy with this gift when we get home!!!!!

The girls want to look for characters so off to the Streets and we find Sully and Mike!!

I just love the backdrops in this area of the park.

Oh what luck!!! We run into Kim Possible and Ron Stoppable!! The girls are thrilled to get their autograph!!

I have got to say that they were wonderful to the kids!!!!

We walk over to Star Tours to get fastpass and the girls spot Darth Vader and want their picture with him and a storm trooper. We could not get near him when we were here on Sunday!!! The line is long and and it is time for Darth to take a break. Well the girls are willing to wait for him even though it is getting hot!!! Marci holds their spot in line and we get pictures on the speederbike.

Finally, Darth Vader gets back from his break. This is the longest time we spent in any line but the girls are happy.

I cannot, for the life of me, remember what else we did this morning!!! I am sure that we rode Star Tours though.

We go to have lunch at ABC commissary around 11am and there are no lines and plenty of tables. Just as we finish it starts to rain!!! This is a short one and we only have to wait about 10 mins for it to stop and it is the only rain of the day. Yeah!!!!!

LV is saying “take a break today” and we all listen and head back to our resort.

When we get to our room this is what we find.

Mousekeeping has made a swing for Minnie!!!! And the room is cleaned up!!! Thank you Mousekeeping!!!!

Cassie and Tori worry about leaving their friends in the room each day and we find them having a party when we get back to the room.

Today we get back in time to nap and go swimming. Yeah!!! The Volcano slide is open today. Cassie really enjoys the slide.

John takes Tori down the slide and manages to keep her head out of the water and she wants to go again. This time Marci takes her and she is not able to hold Tori out of the water!!!! Tori does not want to go again and is happy in her swim ring for now.

We all enjoy this pool!! It is really nice to swim and see the castle from the pool area!

After our break we head back to MGM for dinner at Hollywood and Vine.

We get to the park and catch the end of the parade and head for dinner. We all enjoy this buffet. We get our ticket for Fantasmic so we don’t have to wait in line.

After dinner we have time to do some shopping and get a fastpass for Star Tours again. This is Extra Magic hrs tonight so we can stay after Fantasmic.

We go to the special entrance and start the walk to the theatre. It is 30 mins before the show and this place is getting really crowded but we have reserved seats.

John entertains the girls while we wait for the show to start.

Fantasmic is amazing and we were all so mesmerized we did not take any photos during the show!!!!

Next we head out of the theatre with about 30 million other people and try to find our stroller again with 30 million other people. We manage not to lose anyone and head for Star Tours again.

I have to buy some more Ewoks for gifts so we go into the gift shop. The girls are getting tired and want to go to the room. When we come out of the shop we find Mulch, Sweat ‘N Shears starting to rock and roll!!! John and Marci really enjoy this performance and we watch the entire show!!! The girls are kinda patient with us and we finally leave for the room around 11.

Another good day comes to a close and we all fall asleep with no problem at all!!!!
