My boss has decided he wants to take his grandson to Disneyland and wants a theme park view room. I have read the super thread but I am a bit confused as what rooms maybe recommended for that type of room.

Any suggestions would sure help,

Jack

My favorite rooms are the ones located just accross from the GRR - Rooms X342 - X353 (substitute floor number for the X) ... I think the 4th floor was probably the best.

When we stayed there, we had a room overlooking Downtown Disney and thought it was charming. :)

Also the Downtown Disney room we had a view of the Disneyland Train station and Space Mountain. You can't really see inside the park, but I loved watching guests excited in the morning walking to the parks. Plus we had a view of the fireworks! pixiedust I'm not sure what room it was but it was right above the entrance to World of Disney.:

Are all of the rooms y'all have mentioned so far considered premium view rooms where you had to pay extra? Any rooms with a decent view of either Downtown Disney or the pool that cost the same as a standard room? :confused3

Jack, I honestly dont remember my room number but we had a room looking right over GRR...we could see the rafts going down one of the slopes:goodvibes

They have several categories of rooms and the price goes up for each of them.

I put in for the night of 9/23 online and found this:

Standard view $395
Partial DTD view +$65
Resort/Pool view +$120
Theme Park view +$120
Premium DTD view +$125

Be careful that you request certain rooms. I understand any room that partially has a view of DCA can be a theme park view. We like being as high up as possible so request the 5th floor (as 6th floor is concierge).

We like the east wing of GCH because we can use the stairs on the far east end to get to DTD and it is near the security entrance.

For example, here is room 5438: http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=2526004 The view will look a little different this year with CCT.

We love love loved our view!!! I had only booked a standard room but we where upgraded to this view:

During the Day:

At Night:

It was room 3242 and we would wave and talk to the people on Goofy's Sky School. I liked this view because we could see almost everything and at night we could see the world of color show (but not the projections). It was the highlight of the trip because we got to experiance the magic even after we went back to our room.

I believe we were one floor above your room July 2010, great view of DCA, WOC and the we loved spending time on our balcony. We also were upgraded from a standard room. Loved it!:cool1:

The Dobies stayed in 4011 about a decade ago. I don't have pictures, but the view was of Grizzly Mountain. It was also close to the lobby elevator and we could hear the lobby music. Magical.
