Grand Villas

Just out of curiosity are grand villas at any of the dvc's in demand or do the majority of people want 2 bedrooms?

The couple times we've been in a Grand Villa we've called at the 11 month mark, first thing in the morning, for each day of our trip to make the reservation. There are so few they seem to book quickly, and the times we've been in one we needed the space so a 2 bedroom was not a good option.

If you are talking about a GV at OKW or SSR, they are a bit easier to get because there are quite a few more of them than at BWV. If you are traveling at a low points time, you would want to try to reserve at the 11 month window, but it is not crucial to call day by day unless you are looking for a GV at BWV or at a popular time of year. We have had a GV during the first week of January where we called 11 months from check out (not day by day) and had one two weeks ago where we did call day by day because of the F&W festival. These were both at OKW, where there are 27 GVs. I believe BWV only has 7, so they are more difficult to get.

From reading these boards, it is apparent that Grand Villas are in very high demand and in very low supply. They go very quickly and are difficult to book at non-home resorts unless someone gets lucky or the waitlist works.

Thanks for the insight. DH has a master plan already cooking for our next trip in 2006 and he wants to stay in a grand villa. Our home is SSR, so hopefully we will get lucky.

We are staying in a grand villa at BWV from Dec. 5-11. It took my sister and mom a while to get back to me and I was pretty sure I would not be able to get the GV. I called at 10.5 months out and found it available! Go figure.

We are going to be at the BWV in about 12 days. We made the reservation right at the 11 month mark. A couple months later we found out we could extend the trip and another relative was going to go at the same time. We tried to get a Grand Villa but one was only available for the weekend nights. We took it because we wanted to try it and then we will switch to our 2BR that we had already reserved. (Got a studio for the relative). As Diane already pointed out, there are only 7 at the BWV so they are hard to come by.

I have two grand villas reserved fro Nov 26-Dec 5th, so Max you could be checking into my home on the 5th. I have 30 something people coming for a family Xmas reunion all staying in different size room at the BWV...we are so excited..have all my priority reservations made and received my tickets for MVMCP and my AP's Life is GOOOOOOOOD. Now lets hope the Strike planned is averted by Disney employees.

I reserved a Grand Villa at OKW the second week in April within the 7 month booking window with no problem. I ended up letting it go, because we couldn't get enough people to go with us to fill it up. I'm sure someone did the happy dance over that one!
