Grand Villas??

someone told me that there wer grand villas, what resorts have them and where can i find the prices, im going with 20 people so a villa that sleeps 12 would be great!!

I believe that most if not all of the DVC resorts have them.

There are Grand Villas at all of the Disney Vacation Club Resorts. I've never priced them to pay for them... so that I can't answer. However, I wanted to tell you that you might be interested in going to the DVC Rent/Trade Boards. You could find a DVC member to rent some points from to book the Grand Villas.

There located at the DVC resorts of Boardwalk, Old Key West, Saratoga Springs and Animal Kingdom Villas. They are severely limited in number and usually booked by DVC members on points. They can be hard to get on a cash reservation, if you can they run 1300 - 2500 a night, depending on resort and season. You're better trying to rent points from a DVC member.

for 20 people I would go with
a two bedroom and 3 studios

2-bedroom sleep 8 (expect AKV it sleeps 9)
studio sleep 4

the 2-bedroom is where one meets.

I don't think I would go as tightly packed as the previous poster, unless some of the people are children.

4 people in a studio is kind of tight.

Plus 8 people in a 2 bedroom. Make sure you don't get a lockout, but a dedicated 2 bedroom. That way you get 2 queen beds in the "studio" second bedroom, otherwise you get the pullout sofa. Plus, your talking people sleeping the pullout in the LV, do depending on who is expected to sleep in the main living areas, kitchen area, someone is dealt the short straw, however kids sometimes meet that criteria.

In a vacation club villa (studio on up) you can have the number of adults permitted (studio=four, one bedroom=four, two bedroom=8, grand villa=12) plus a child under three. There is a pack and play in each accomodation.

As stated above, not all DVC's have grand villas. If you are interested in booking them, I'd call as soon as you know your dates, and see if you can book them. They go fast.

Have you thought of staying offsite in a vacation rental house? Might be much more cost effective, and many of them come with pools. You would then, of course need your own transport.

Old Key West, the Boardwalk Villas, Saratoga Springs Resort have them. I also think the Animal Kingdom Villas have the, but I am not 100% sure about that.

I don't believe the Beach Club Villas or the Villas at the Wilderness Lodge have grands.

You probably wouldn't be able to book the GV until at least 7 months out and by then they would all be taken by members.

It looks like you are looking at early October which is one of the busiest times for DVC members because of the Food & Wine Festival.

Why not provide all the info and let each family make their own reservations?

I might go with OKW - just because the units are bigger.

the studios at OKW are all 2 queen beds not the 1 queen bed and double sleeper sofa that the other studios have.

remember no guaranteeds about everyone in the same building. OKW will try - but no guaranteeds.
