Grand Villas...Chance of getting one in Aug. is...?

For those of you that have knowledge and/or experience
with Grand Villas(any of them)...what are my chances
of actually getting one Aug.16-23? Being this is Sun. night
and I can't wait for DVC to answer my question, can anyone
pass on any info please?

We just got back from our stay in a GV at SSR. I made my reservations at the 7 month mark with no problem. I was surprised that there was availability since it was Easter week. AKV was also available; OKW was only available on some of our days. If you are going mid-August, I would think you would at least find availability at SSR.

We also had 10 in our party. The GV was perfect for us - good luck and have a great time!

mouseclick1...What section were you in? We stayed in "The Springs" last time @ SSR.

I requested the Springs or Congress Park, but ended up in the Paddock section. I thought it was too far back, but our boys didn't mind the walk to the pool or basketball courts at all. The one advantage to our section was that we were one of the first pick-up stops on the bus route. We actually waited at the Carousel bus stop because it was closer to our building than the official Paddock bus stop. We always had a seat on the bus, which was standing room only by the last stop.

Just a thought, don't know how wed you are to a GV or how many in your party, but last Nov. we opted for 2, 2-br villas. LESS POINTS, sleeps 16 instead of 12, 4 bedrooms, 4 baths, & 2 kitchens. They put us almost right next to each other, we ended up inviting more people and the kids had a ball having sleep-overs!

We wanted one last August, the same week you are looking for. I couldn't get it at OKW, but I had them look ahead and one was available the last week of August. So I called day by day and got one for that week. I guess the key is a little flexibility, and definitely call day by day! Good luck, you will love it!!
