We will be getting a Grand Villa next summer at Saratoga Springs and I was wondering if these units are located in each section? Also, which is the best section to ask for? I was thinking the main building, but have heard the buses are not the best there in the busy season.

Yes they are in all sections. There are no villas in the main building. The closest is Springs which is across the road.

I don't think transportation is bad at any of the locations.

We had a GV in the Congress Park area in late 2007, overlooking DTD. We've always liked the CP location, and that was our request. We drove our rental car the whole time, but had other family staying in another unit in CP, and they used the bus on occasion. Didn't have any problems.

Just my opinion, but I don't know if I would burn the points to stay in a GV there again, unless you really need the larger common areas for big group gatherings. We were treating family to a trip, and my DH and I were positively shocked/disappointed in the storage/closet set-up in the master BR in the GV. There was hardly any drawer space (pretty much had to live out of our suitcases), and the closet was small with a bi-fold door that would get caught on the provided hangers when you closed it. Both sets of our parents in the upstairs bedrooms had better closet/storage space than we did, which was bizarre.

LOL! Very similar to our story from Oct 2010. Next time, we'll put guests in the Master and we take one of the upstairs bedrooms. We hated the Master bathroom setup (lack of privacy for the toilet), the miserably ancient & hard mattress and the tiny closet. We were relieved to learn that the guest bedrooms had new pillow-top mattresses ... but sure jealous!

All of the buildings at SSR have the same configuration. Each building has 2 GV's.

I would agree about the master bath; I could look right across to DTD while sitting "there."

We liked the Grandstand area but we haven't been for a long time. I wonder how the new pool is.
